Cinematics in Multiplayer. Yes or No?

I'm continuing a subject from the BNet forum. I refuse to believe that everyone hates cinematics on Multiplayer. I do see how long cinematics could be annoying, and have started to cut down on length time, and also making some non-cinematic transmissions. But they're still goin to be a handful of big cinematics (about 1 or 2 minutes lenght) for the big parts of the story (Im making a RPG).

My idea when doing this map was to make something that isn't hack n' slash. I just hate those maps, when I think RPG I think Final Fantasy for Zelda, not Double Dragon. Anyway, from what I'm getting, people actually like hack n' slash. Of course from what I've seen when I play my Predator map, about 40% of people compliment the opening cinematic, 50% dont say anyting, and 10% say there should be a skip option.

I'm just curious, who else shares my opinion, and who doesn't and why.

I like them if they're done atleast half-decently. But I also think there should be a skip-vote option aswell. As long as the people feel they have a choice, they won't really mind.

I say it is imperative to have a skip option. I like RPG's, and cinematics in them when done well. But, if I like the map enough to play it more than once, I really don't want to have to wait for a 2 minute cinematic to finish when I already know what it's about.

True, for replaying It does get boring watching the same thing. I feel like that with the Predator intro I was talking about. I'm kinda lazy and am not goin to make skipping for short cinematics, but I'll do it for those longer ones I was talking about. I actually did make a skip trigger for my 1st big act, but it took a while. Nevertheless I'll keep doing them, since I just have to copy, paste, then change.

Only if they are at the start and the players can skip it. Other wise I don't really like on-line cinematics.
