Help Please (Please read at least..))

Me and a friend would like to try our hand at model/skin creating but we dont know how to go about doing this... please explain how, what program to use etc... my friend can make models and skins but doesn't know what equipment he needs and stuff, please explain! =)

maybe u should try looking at the tutorial section pencilgod has a skinning tut there and im sure theres a model tut there too
