Step 1: Collecting Tools Download these tools:
Open Win Mpq, and open the mpq arcive: c:/program files/warcraft iii/war3.mpq extract the following files:
Put all the files in the folder: c:/program files/warcraft iii/Units/ Now open the AbilityData.slk that we just moved with Red Skulls editor. Now, you cannot edit existing spells. To edit a spell, lets say, starfall, select it, and press Ctr+N. edit the new spells values to the way you want them. the 4 dada feilds are data for the spell. Hover over them, and it will show you what they do for that spell. Now for editing tooltips, open the ability drop-down menue, and select: Props. a window will apper, edit the tooltips to the way you want, and select an icon. If the spell is a hero spell, select a reserch art. Step 4: Adding the spells to your heros If you followed step 3, then restart world editor, and they will be in the list. Step 5: Importing Now, to make them apear in-game, open your map with win mpq. Add all the files to your map. if you save your map again, you will have to re-import these files. Trigger enhancements are the easiest to do ever. But, maybe you should tell them how to import? And where to...? |

I could never get WinMPQ to actually work, but TechMPQ is decent (unless you piss it off in anyway, then it starts to break) *grumble* Say you have custom buttons for your spells. Do you just squish their pathnames into the map as well, or what? *ignorant* A good tut on triggers enhancing spells would be nice for reference. |

Guest | Fury, using a Spell Editor isnt really 'advanced.' If your too lazy to do it in good old excell, well then, your not cut out for the job. |
