emote_sweat Ok, you geniuses probably think I'm some sort of idiot, but here's my question. I can edit skins and make them appear in the editor but how do I make them appear in the game while playing? |

Well, I assume you know how to convert the back to .blp and such. You open a program called WinMPQ and import it into the map. If you have a demon hunter skin, the full import file would be... Textures\HumanDemonHunter.blp That's it. It will work in game. REMEMBER - Once you save your map in a world editor, all imported files are erased and you'll have to re-import them. |

Can the same be done, but with using Techmpq instead of Winmpq ?emote_sweat Im kinda new to skinning so plz make it clear (or say it the noob way):bgrun: [Textures\HumanDemonHunter] ????? how is this true. Should´nt it be something like [Textures\HeroDemonHunter.blp] ? |

emote_sweat Um... then if you can't save your map how do I send it out on the net... and since the editor save itself every time you test a map how can you EVEN RUN IT AT ALL. oh...:mtk: I just thought of something. do you convert over the files after your done with the map just place the units in their normal skins. D'oh I feel like an idiot. (Way to go Zess now they really do think your stupid) |

Yup. Once you're done amking the whole map 100%. All you have to do is import the files AFTER you save. Then it's good to go. :D |

But, I still have a question. let me use an example. say I made a custom skin for a footman and I had original footman skins in the map how can I use both the original and the custom skin. |

You'll need 2 or more models with different pathnames to texture references. |

Thanx for your help guys. Now that I've got that sorted out I can actually practice skinning. And that's gonna take a while. Oh and as for the mpq go to www.warcraftiii.net then go to maps and find the tutorials. There is one skinning tutorial that has links to everything you need. |

I just change it a little. i think my problem is the Pathways ie. i have test edited 2 skins. A sorceress and a skeleton Archer. now i add the sorceress as Units\Human\Sorceress.blp and the skelli as Textures\SkeletonArcher.blp. But when i open the map they where implanted into (just to see if it works) i can see the changes to the skeleton and not the sorceress. I added both files with Winmpq and edited them with Adobe Photoshop. Anyway, i cant see any of them ingame (as edited). Can any1 tell what i am doing wrong, cause im making a mistake somewhere.:bangH: :bangH: |
