To answer one of your questions, there is a list of animation tags included with UMSWE.
They play different animations for a unit, like walk, attack, die, and similar whatnot.

Some units have animation tag prefixes which are used for morphing. Using the "Required Animations" field in the WE, you can force a unit to play animations that have a certain prefix (like the Demon Hunter's "alternatex").

I apologize for the mis-information, pantagruel. I looked for it myself and didn't find it. I guess I was wrong.

However, you can tell what tags individual units have by selecting them in WE and looking at the window on the left bar that shows the unit. It allows you to click through all the available animations, and as an added bonus shows what the unit does in that animation.

To play 3d sounds I believe all you have to do is attatch to a unit or point via a trigger and then use Sound- Play Sound.

The animation tags I can think of are
Alternate (used for any unit with two forms, such as DotC)
Gold (Peasants and Peons to make them appear to be carrying gold)
Lumber (Peasant, peon, and ghouls)
Ready (this makes it so when a unit that has it is standing they look like they are ready to attack something)
Work (when buildings are producing a unit they have this, and peon type units look like they are collecting something)
Defend (used on footmen and bandits to put them in defending position)
Victory (units with a victory stance will play it if standing still)
Channel (some units have a channeling stand position and they will use it with this tag)
I'm bored now, but I've listed the main ones.

Edit- Preload batch just loads a file at the beggining instead of in the middle of the game, lessening lagging in the middle. I do not know how this actually works though.
