Map "Protector"

Well I thought I'd try this map protector...so I did. I encripted one of my maps from my maps directory as a test. Tried to load it up...all is well it doesn't load up. Wow it works...but WAIT..I try to load up my OTHER maps that I have NOT encripted...unable to load map...unable to load map...unable to load map...etc..etc..etc. Well it seems the map protector has ruined my GD day. I can no longer edit ANY of my custom maps or even the regular maps...it seems to have encrypted ALL of them. Thanks alot whoever created it...thanks for destroying about 2 weeks worth of work and sapping my will to bother with it anymore. It protects maps alright...protects them even if you don't want them protected. I don't know if this is an uncommon thing or not but that's how it happened here. There should have been warnings if this is a common occurence with this tool. Anyway that's the last time I use some unofficial tool programmed by an amateur...even if it does sound good.

What program are you talking about?
I'm really concerned about map protection and I'm actually working on a map protector and I've never heard about yours. I've heard about Unlucky_Footman/Weaaddar ones but not the one you're talking about.
I hope for you you didn't download a fake program that "kills" maps or a trojan...

I am talking about the Map Protector/encripter program from THIS website. It has no viruses...it just annoyingly encripted ALL my maps instead of the one map I pointed it too. Thereby affectively destroying my unfinished work.

Well I never heard anyone else complain, so you obviously did something wrong, Just ask someone who knows what can be done to fix your sisuation.

I fixed the problem..it did not encript all my maps. It somehow corrupted the editor. With a reinstall I can open my files n/p.

Search the forum. It took me only like 20 seconds to search. I had the same exact problem. Look for my second reply in this thread:

CTHULHU007, you were talking about Unlucky_Footman/Weaaddar map protector. It doesn't crypt maps at all! I don't know where you get that funny idea of crypting maps... Anyway, what it only does is remove one file from the w3m (a file with the extention "wtg") and that makes the WE to crash. That's all.

Well then it needs to be taken down from this site if all it does is corrupt the editor.

I'm sure the creators head exploded when he saw this post. Because it has been posting so, so many times, DO NOT PLACE THE PROTECTOR IN YOUR WARCRAFTIII DIRECTORY

let see that makes you newbie number 578. Anyway for some reason this site is hosting The old version not the repackage with MPQ2k which had a readme. I think I told everyone who hosted it to write a DO NOT ****ING PUT THIS IN YOUR WAR3 DIRECTORY. But maybe I was wrong.

Makes people feel better about themselves to call someone a newbie I geuss. IF THERE HAD BEEN CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS AT THE DOWNLOAD POINT OR INCLUDED IN THE GD FILE IT WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED. What am I supposed to search every gd forum I run across before downloading something from the site???
It doesn't matter...my problem is solved except for my triggers being deleted.

There were clear instructions in the post and in the download itself. So you are either very dumb, or cannot read.

Umm NO there are not clear instructions ANYWHERE in the download OR the file...smart ***...and I don't read everything on these boards. There is simply too much to go through. This post could have died...but you had to open your fat trap. Get a life.
