If you want to edit them just edit the slk yourself. For already implemented spells you just change a couple things and its not too much of an inconvience. I'm not sure if there's a way around Redskull's, but hopefully he'll come out with updated versions where you can. You could also use another editor to edit original spells.

You can't create new spells, every spell you "make" has to be based off of another spell which is hard coded.

Well sometimes you want to mod original spells because it'd be a waste of space to create another one. (IE you want mana burn but just want to drop the cost). In that case, you can either use another spell editor or if you have excel modify the original, and open the raceabilitytxt files in notepad and modify tooltips from there. One instance in which this can be useful is if you want Reign of Chaos to rain down a lot of random lightning bolts in the area. (Apparently it can only work off of Inferno, so you can modify Inferno)
