weird tileset issue, need expert help

okay I was monkeying around with Zepir's trying to stuff a bunch of tilesets into a map. Seems the most you can do is 24, but that's beside the point, somehow, in the process of doing whatever, I replaced the blight tile for that specific set with a normal dirt one.

So any new blight I put down shows up as dirt.

It doesn't say 'dirt' on the blight icon, and it doesn't even show up as dirt in the we, BUT when I try to play the map, the new blight I lay out all turns to regular dirt ingame.

Anybody know how I can somehow reset the blight without messing up all the terrain I already laid out?

Or if not is there another way I can get my blight working right again?

btw the tileset is Felwood.

It depends. If you did this to a map, modify the file within it that specifies blight to be dirt and everything should be fine. You could be a bit more radical and just delete the file, but if I got it right, you don't want to mess with the other terrains you modified. If you did this directly to the MPQ, I suggest reinstalling Warcraft and going the other way (implementing files only in the map). Implementing file directly in the MPQ, specially if you didn't do a backup copy, can effectively destroy your game if you do something wrong.

funny, I had it up to 24.

Anyways, here's the thing I DIDN'T do this on purpose. I didn't do anything to the MPQ. All I did was open the map with Zepirs, and add a bunch of new tilesets and a new cliffset in there to try out. Once I decided what I didnt want, I opened up the tileset in USMWE, and deleted all the tiles I wasn't gonna use. Something must've gotten knocked outta wack in the process, or set wrong when I actually had all those tiles crammed into the map in the first place

Something went wrong and I have no idea what it is. I have no idea where to even begin to look actually And I dont want to reset the tileset because it'll futz all the terrain I spent fricking hours on making up.

And yes, this was done to a map.

If you're worried about screwing up your terrain, remember that you can simply c'n'p your whole terrain from one map to another. This is, if it comes down to that. I honestly haven't come across that kinda problem before myself. What version of Zepirs are you using? 8 or 7a?

Also, are you talking about 24 textures or 24 tilesets (not inculding cliffs)

that might be good for the terrain, yeah, but what about EVERYTHING Else, triggers, unit mods, doodads, unit stats/settings, etc I have there too?

UPDATE: Okay, I made a completely new map with the felwood tileset, and I used it's blight in a small area, just to what would happen, and THAT showed up as dirt too. I knocked something out of whack either globaly, or some setting with my UMSWE got miffed. Does ANYBODY know what it could possibly be?

If you edit a map you've already worked on in Zepirs, ALL THOSE WHO ARE USED MUST BE IN THE SAME PLACE. That's your problem.

Well, I'm guessing you've been a good boy.
You have all of these 4 letter words for your tiles (Eatch beginning with a capital), now, if you edit these around, say you have these (not actual tiles, I don't want to open the editor just for this)
YdsaYdtrYhgtYftsYgrgYorg
Now, you use 3 of those, and you use the 3 last ones, now you remove the first 3, and only keep the last three... This will not work. Those last 3 you've used will take the place of those 3 you removed in your map, who weren't even in use, and those you use will have none or another tile.
Hmm... If we say that we have tile 1-4, you use tile 2, and you remove tile 1 (and tile 2 takes tile 1s place). Then tile 3 will also become time 2, thus, tile 2 till suddenly be tile 3.
That last should have cleared it up. Also, tile 4 will be tile 3, it's all logic. Basicly I'm saying that if you've used a tile, you need to keep its place in the list, you can add any other things in those you did not you.
YdtrYtrdYtddYorg
You want to keep Ytdd on you map and remove the rest, for this to work, it would look like this (N stands for new)
NuefNadsYtddNdfs - Correct
YtddNuefNadsNdfs - = Your former Ytdd tile will now be Nads in your map. You with me?
Oh well.

Yeah, I understand how that works completely.

But what does it have to do with the fact that now my blight wont show up ingame right?

Update here too: I've reinstalled TWICE. wiped out the entire War3 folder, then reinstalled everything, and it keeps happening.

the only thing I can think of is the actuall 'maps' folder that I've been saving on my desktop, and readding once I reinstalled is corrupted or something...

I can't think of any other reason why this is happening. It's not the individual map files in the folder because I sent one to a friend and he said the blight showed up fine on his end.

And with reinstalling it should've knocked any weird setting in the war3 files out. So atleast I know any map I make will still show up ingame for other people, but damnit I want MY blight to show up too. :P

Somebody pls help me with this.:nono:

I did.

They straightened it right out.

I had to go to their ftp and dl that war3.reg file that completely knocks all your settings out.

that cleared it right up. And now I got blight again, w00t w00t!
