It's actually hard to tell so some people might not actually see anything wrong because they can't rotate the model around. But it sounds to me like your surface normals are flipped.

Surface normals are a vector that is attached to each face. It's an arrow that is perpendicular to the polygon. Normals are used to determine the visibility of a polygon, if the arrow points away from the camera it is assumed that the visible side of the polygon can't be seen so it isn't drawn. Well because polygons have two sides normals can point in two directions. So if the normals are flipped it creates the effect that you can see through the outside and see the inside. So whatever program you are using you need to flip the normals so they point outward so it looks like expected.

Although it could be a problem with the export process because if the normals are flipped in war3 then they should have been flipped in the editor as well. What modeling software and exporter are you using?

flipped faces are also my first guess wich the exporter must have done i think.

there could be another thing though, have u broken al vertices? i remember some stuff went wrong when i forgot to break the verts. i thought the skin got applied wrong or something but maybe this will help u...

Thanx, it works!:D
Another question:
Have I to adjust the lightning in my 3D Programm? Because it looks so weird in WC3. o0

His model is to bright (no shadows), and my model is to dark.... :bgrun:

You don't have to adjust lighting. In fact the lighting isn't even exported to war3. It's probably your skin that needs to be brightened up a bit.

hello,
i think i have the same problem... but i cant figur it out with your tips.
i'm using max 5.0... and i did a model with spline editing and had some problems with the normal, but they were not too big.

Then i wanted to import my model to w3 tft, but everytime and with every different setting i can look through (i think) the same faces... *hm* :////
it seems to be a problem with the normals, but how can i get rid of these probs ?
i tried all settings of the "Normal" Modifier... no results, only in 3dsMax i cant see through my model.

Thanks, help me plz :-)
