Can someone tell me EXACTLY what to do to get a Splash Screen to work? So far, all I got was: 1) Illegal Operations 2) Crashes 3) Not appearing at all No tutorial out there works for me. It is just too straight-forward like people already know a lot (so don't link me DraX or DaemonKillar's). It's really a pain in my butt, and I need to fix it NOW! |

k I'll explain begin by making a 800x400 splash screen. once it is done reduce it to 512x512 and make a BLP out of it. Give it the name of ane existing splash screen. They're all in Replaceabletextures\camerasmasks\name.blp Replace one of these files using techMPQ and in the world editor, call the appropriate splash screen. Let's say you replace Panda-n-cub.blp, in the WE you will call the Panda and Cub screen. That's pretty much it. |

Replace in what directory? Map or the war3.mpq?! |

I did exactly like you said: 1) I made a 800x400 picture, resized to 512x512 tga image. 2) I converted it to blp and saved it as Panda-n-Cub. 3) I replaced the one in war3.mpq. 4) I made an action with the fade filter Panda-n-Cub, and with 100 red, 100 green, 100 blue, 0 transparency. 5) I even put "Turn on letter mode" to see if that activates. Guess what? The letterbox mode works, but the fade filter shows NOTHING! |

dude it's the map not the MPQ, don't ever change the war3 MPQ |

--First open your Image extractor II --Go to veiw listveiw --Next find ReplaceableTextures\CameraMasks\Panda-n-Cub.blp --Save that image as a .tga --Close image extractor II then open the Newly saved .tga file in PS or PSP7 or whatever u are running (I use psp7) --Next get rid of that panda-n-cub picture and put the picture u want in its place..u can either cut it out or paste the picture as a new layer or whatever... --Once u have done this go to file then save. --ok now reopen image extractor II and then open your picture and save it as a .blp --Create a trigger in your map using a cinematic-Fade filter fading out using texture Panda-n-cub with colors(100,100,100) and 0% transparency...close ur map when u are done --Last u want to open winmpq --then open your map with winmpq --Next go to add and add your image...then put the original file path ReplaceableTextures\CameraMasks\ --And ur picture will now replace the panda-n-cub picture in game btw: make sure u resize it when u edit the picture or it will come out blurry |

Thank you, DK and DEMAN! I finally got my Fade Filter to work! This is what I'm talking about. If the tutorial is a bit more clear like DEMAN's, then all the confusions (like mine) can easily solve itself :D OOOH YEA! |

make sure your splash screen BLP file is 512x512 otherwise it will not show up. |
