Guest | It's just for fun. Delete a unit and watch it die. Click too much on a unit and get an annoyed response. |

Then what dose it do in diablo 2? |

In D2, I've hard rumors that there is a gem shrine in the game, I don't believe it. I think it is useless on d2. |

If you click on the 'Gem Shrine' (D2) and carry a gem with you (Ruby, saphire etc.) it will upgrade itself in a higher form. (Like putting 3 gems in the cube) |

for thpse who dont know: ith in the bottem right corner of the world editor, when u click on it (its green) and when it is active, when u delete a unit, it plays the death animation. |

Hah, oh! Cool... Gotta use that (Umm, gotta use that A LOT!). |

When you place a unit while the gem is active it plays its ready sound. For example if you place a footman it says: "Ready for action!" Sometimes (!) when you select a unit while the gem is on it plays its 'what' sound. |

lol it can be a pain: if you move you vew away fro ma unit whule it is playing its death animation, the unti will stay alive till you finish watching the animation. |

Yeah so? Everyone pretty much knows that, that has nothing to do with the Gem Shrine. Anyways, back on topic to WAR3. Earth-Fury is right. |

We tested it in D2 and it does create a gem shrine. If you click on it enough time its will say something other than gem active (quality gem active if we remember correctly). If you host a game while its activated like that a gem shrine will apear somewhere in that game. If u want to try it go ahead but be warned...it may take a long time for it to activate. Sometimes over 1/2 hour or more. Its not realy worth the effort in our oppinion but it will work. Never seen it upgrade a gem b4. |

Guest | Clicking the gem in diablo 2 does Nothing. Nothing. After clicking it a few hundred times, you will see a 'Perfect Gem Activated' message. This does Nothing. Nothing. Click it a few hundred more times, and you'll get 'Mooooo!' or somesuch. This too does Nothing. Gem Shrines are randomly generated in-game just like all other shrines, even if they are a bit more rare than most. Clicking the gem does Nothing to improve the chances. |

Well it wasnt a conclusive test however in three times we got a perfect gem to show up we also found a gem shrine in each of those games. With the expantion gems are dime a dozen anyway so true or not its still not worth the time |

From what I remember there is always 1 gem shrine in each act, just in a random spot. I don't know if it's true or not, but it makes sence, since each act is huge. |
