Cause im looking for some old threads I remember seeing but cant seem to find em. One was about how to make dead trees all respawn independently of one another and also one that tills you how to create random weather effects. Although I already made random weather effects for my map wanted to see if his was a better way. I just went through like 30 pages of the forum and some of the stuff here was funny as hell lol. :gsmile: |

Most of the old useful posts stay. However, periodic pruning does occur and therefore certain things may be lost. Did you try and manually search the forums, or did you use the search function at the bottom of the forum page? I found this one on weather events in a few moments, I didn't look for the respawning trees question, though. http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...random+weather ~kharma |

It is quite possible that your thread got lost in the two crashes that made threads in a certain time frame disappear. |

The question about old posts with relevant information pertaining to map development is what convinces me to keep this post here. We must encourage everyone to lookup old posts for the same answers as much as possible :). Speaking of which, I found a discussion on tree revival, but I'm not sure if it's the right one. I didn't notice any others on the subject, so it possibly could have been lost in the server reset: http://wc3campaigns.com/forums/showt...ght=dead+trees ~kharma |

The default forum view is for the last 10 days. You can, however, display all threads back to the beginning. I sorta wish we could have a FAQ thread for the forum, but with all the zany questions that get posted, and with the detailed and often conflicting variety of responses, it would likely take someone's full effort to maintain. |

I've been thinking about this recently and mulling over the problem myself as to how it can be operated. I've thrown caution to the wind and created a FAQ page here. You're right though, a FAQ page is always handy to have around. It will also help us preserve some of the valuable information in older threads. ~kharma |

I'll try to help you as much as I can, kharma, probably more so after TFT comes out. |

You can make the faqs page by the rule ppl dont answer when they question they write Q:blablabla and moderators edit them adding A:blablabla |

Hey thx for the info Kharma and i used the the search function at the bottom btw. Those forum i have looked at but are not the ones im looking for. And I don't use any other forum but this one, I usually forget that any of the other forums exist, but watever. And I just like to say another thing of topic, I was working on my map for like an hour and i got an error message which force me to close my editor and I lost my hours work, which really sucks T.T |
