another way of skining?

i was just thinking about how sum skins stretch the blp teribly, so would there be a way to do the skin while it is ON the model? im pretty sure there isnt but it would be really kool if u could.

dont ask me were i get all these ideas from...

You mean you want to see the work progress interactively how it looks on the model? Well, you can import your model in, for example, 3ds max, make a material with your bitmap file in the 'diffuse colour' field, switch 'show map in viewport' on and you'll see your model skinned. And every time you will save your skin (in Photoshop?) you'll see the changes on your model in 3ds max.

if you skin the model in 3ds max or some other 3d program and then exported the skin from there you can.

dam. i dont have a modeling prog. is it ANY prog that will work? or just 3ds max?

Well I assume any would work if you had a skin export script, but Ive only seen one for 3ds max so for now I think its only 3ds max
