Hello there... My name is Marlin Statler (playamarz on b.net).

I play everything from dota and td's, rpg's and the likes. And I'm telling you... Aren't you getting tired of all the mauls out there? How about all the lame arenas that basically cheat to get your unit all high and mighty? I am.

The main mission of Mental Concepts is this : I'm hoping to create alot of maps that rival the "typical" boring ums games you see all around here. I have already begun work one map that I will share with you as soon as I get the website up.

I only need a couple of people.. But these couple of people ned to be extremely creative and need to have an open mind. I myself am open to ideas and I like discussing the whole project and asking questions before "ordering" things to be done. These are some of the people I may be interested in.

1 to 2 Spell Editors
1 to 2 Unit Editors
3 to 4 Voice Actors
1 to 2 Icon Artists

Of course I won't really be hiring the voice actors until I get a clear thought of the RPG I want to do.. But I do have an incredible amount of ideas to share with you guys.

I myself have been working with internet technologies (HTML, DHTML, VRML, PHP, ASP, FLASHMX, JavaScript and so on...) for around 10 years now. I use to make tons of melee maps in Starcraft and a couple were pretty well known. (Canyon of Tiriny) I program using C++, Visual Basic and multiple other languages as well and I love working with the Warcraft III editor. I will be doing the main creation of terrain and triggers.

Spell Editors : Need to be able to edit previous spells and be able to create brand new spells. I'm looking for a unique touch to all our maps.
Unit Editors : If need be I can perform this action but to me it's tedious and I do not enjoy it. Therefore I'd like someone who is more use to it and likes it to join the team. Again we shall be creating marvelous new characters for you to bask in the pleasures of.
Voice Actors : I shouldn't need any of these for a couple of months now. But if anyone wants to send me voice resumes ([email protected]).
Icon Artists : Icon Artists need to be able to express the ideas of a new spell into the form of a small icon. Shouldn't be too awfully hard to do.. And it won't be an absolutly demanding job to partake in.

I hope this has explained alot.. Now.. here are a couple of the maps I have planned for the future.. (notice all maps will be converted over to The Frozen Throne by July(just in case anyone had a ? about that)).

1. Marz TD : I've been working on this for the past 3 weeks now.. It's almost complete.. My team won't be working on this.. Just me for now. Just to show my team what I myself am capable of.

2. MC_DOTA : It's a new type of dota map. One where you have three teams and the object is to see who can take hold of a center hill for the longest.. Those who take it over have their time recorded and then paused when they are not on it. More in depth when I get off work today.

I promised more information.. And as promised.. Here you go.

Project Numbers 1 and 2 : Marz TD and Marz TW. These two map styles will be completed by myself on my own time.. No need to worry about them.. I already have the beta testers hard at work with me to balance everything out.

Project Number 3 : Hold the Hill. A DOTA style based map where you and your fellow teammates try and take the hill and hold it as long as you can. You can also choose to destroy the actual team's base as well. Depending on how you work this.. it can prove to be quite challenging... Stay at the hill with all your guys and your fort might get overrun.. Strategy is a must... 3 total teams of 3 or 4.. Not sure yet how I will do that.

Project Number 4 : Legend of Xanth. Based off the popular novels by Piers Anthony. This RPG style map will pit 8 to 10 characters in a world in which they must survive. Their characters are chosen randomly from 40+ possible different heros. Each hero comes with only one spell.. They must work with that spell and with others to make it through this map alive. The random factor allows replayability as you would want to try and play alot of the character types. The actual RPG status will be that the mundanes (non magical creatures) have invaded the territory of the Xanth region and their presence needs to be stopped. Unlike 7DH it will not be done with waves.. But by destroying strategic bases here and there and performing rescue missions and the such.. Certain quests can be opened up by certain characters.. But these optional quests will not interfere with the main story. Hoping to have some really enthusiastic people for this map particularly.

A possible other future project I might work on the side after the two td style maps I'm making for myself is a new MRP1 style map.. Cept.. Not at 256 x 256.. For around 6 players (since most mrp1's end up with only 4-5 players anyways) and with more options to play with.. I altready have the chat command system worked out on paper and so far the test map I'm working with works well with it.

Thanks.. I think out of all of them I am most enthused about that particular one.. Albeit.. I wanna get my td's out there to show people what td's should be made from :)
