Not bad for a "n00b", although I did worst. It lacks a bit of doodads, and the cliff needs a bit more randomness than just straight plateau.

yeah, the cliffs need to use 2 tiles instead to add randomness, and the dodoads need better palcement, with better numbers. im workin on a moutant terrain now.

Don't you think it's a bit.... low? I think you can raise it higher, and the angle is a bit too low also. It looks like a hill :(

If you can make it a bit sharper and taller then it will look better :D

What editor did you use to make the cliff like that in the first shot?

UMSWE allows you to do that.

don't use raise lower tool for mountains really... use it to give it the 'peaking' element but use cliffs to create balconys and, well, cliffs and how do you mkae 3x cliffs one atop another in UMSWE?

Put some cactails in the water on the first ones and more trees in the second

They look nice. I like the winter one better than the ravine...

No, not more trees in the second, it's a harsh landscape, no trees can actually successfully live there. It looks natural on the second...
But the first one... I needs some kind of shore vegitation, shore level adjustment and random cliffing... A river aint a straight line, never has been, never will be.
