Ok I've had another go at Deathwing however keep in mind I only had a B/W picture of the War2 portrait available at the time but now I've found the colour one and am going to correct the skin so the plates are darker but anyway I hand drew all the metal plates in line with the contours on the black dragon skin and I'm quite proud of it (although it looks much better in skin form than on the actual model :-/ guess it's the wrapping |

Guest | i tell ya, those dragons models are messed up, thats why hardly nobody wants to skin it. if i could make some suggestions.... the wings : more contrast, color and some alpha editing to make it more original the face, just some color for the eyes and finally remove the team color or displace it. other than that, even if its a nice skin itll be messed up on the model |

Yeah, blizzard's uvw wrapping sucks. You could probably try to rewrap the model in 3ds max or any other editor. Anyway I can see from here that the skin itself is very good! You made great work drawing those plates by hand. And I'm agree with Balboa, give the eyes to the dragon and remove the teamcolor. And I think that it should be a bit darker. |

thanks guys and yeah I'm going to make it darker (I didn't have a very good reference pic you see but now I do and I'll make the armour darker and he'll have evil eyes to fit the War2 icon, as well as making his wings more tattered. As for the wrapping I think I may have a go at giving it a new map as the current unwrapping sucks :nono: PS Next screenie will have a pic of the portrait too |

The metal parts could have more lightning, mainly highlights. |

I know the plates are black and I know Deathwing is a black dragon argh I didn't have a very good reference pic when I did it though sheesh. But the latest version has darker (nearly black) plates but I am going to add highlights, something to show they are metal and not just his ordinary scales.://// |

the little icon in the BtDP manual but I've now got the colour version. But trust me the skin looks better than the wrapping allows so I am going to re-unwrap the model so it looks better :ggani: Oh and if anyone knows of any other artwork of Deathwing it would be greatly appreciated and would help me out a lot:D |
