Simply creating an image of greater resolution when you start painting is sufficient. There are no other special considerations to make them work. The dimensions of the image must be powers of two however, like 128, 256, 512 etc. You probably wouldn't want to use resolutions higher than 512x512. In fact some older graphics cards simply won't support texture resolutions higher than 256x256. Using double the dimensions(512x512) of a typical war3 skin dimension of 256x256 greatly increases the sharpness of the texture when viewed in game because there is 4 times the number of pixels. |
