Some weeks ago I started to meddle in Jass and last week I got my first AI-script to run. I have realized that there are lots of things that can go wrong and prevent your script from running properly (or at all). I was just wondering if there are others in my situation, learning to code ai-scripts, who are willing to share what they learn. We could form some kind of informal study-circle or something. At the moment I am trying to create an ai-script which can play Plunder Island as human. It will be stupid as a stone, but I will probably learn a lot. A challenge for other newbies like me: Create an script which play Plunder Island as another race, to face my human.ai. In the beginning it will give us great laughs at least. :gsmile: |

Hmm I think its better to just take a look at the current standard melee AI script and change them to learn, it can be very hard to try making a new AI from scratch. |

If one is interested to know how the build queue works, which is probably for the best (I will learn to use next week), it is probably a good idea to read JonahDean's Build queue document which is linked to from: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...&threadid=7157 You are probably right Zalamander, it seems reasonable to make something similar to the existing scripts before coding from scratch, why invent the weel just once when you can invent it twice... 0_o |
