Help! Custom Spell Problems...

Ok, here's the deal. I've made a new hero arena type map, similar to dota, with new custom spells...But, there's a really weird bug. When I load it up, on b.net or on my own, I select one of the heroes however their spells are just the one's I based them off. It doesn't actually use the new spells at all...However I found that if I move the wisp(the unit that chooses the hero) around a bit and select some units or the heroes with the cursor, and THEN select the hero with the wisp. The spells appear properly...it's really really weird. does anyone know how to fix it?

Could you possibly post a version of your map here for us to have a look at the problem ?

You mustn't have a custom loading screen, 'cause that screws the whole thing (most often).

ok, well I'll post a version of my map soon...but, essentially I think perhaps it has something to do with the fact I was replacing spells not creating completely new ones...I just testing this, but I wasn't able to choose the new spells in the editor, well, in the basic WE I could, but in UMSWE 3.6 it wouldn't see them, anyone know why?

Ok, here is the map I made, and it's unprotected too, but please don't screw around and label it as your own or anything, it doesn't really matter to me if you do, it's just, kinda tacky.

I am really willing to help, but as i just tried your map, i haven't found any "custom spell" for heros at all.

All i saw was just different hero spells given to your heros.

Could you clarify this ?

uhm, ok. Well did you try using an mpq editor to look inside it? because the .slk and .txt files are there, I just dl'd it myself and it's all there, if you just tried testing it, as in running the map then there's a high probability you suffered from the bug that I mentioned remember I said that the spells revert back to their original bases? are you sure that's not what happened when you tested it?...just take a look at it in a WE and take a look at the files kept within the map.

Why do you change old spells? It would be more effective to make new ones.

Well when I first took a look at spell editing I was only tweaking old spells for a different arena game. So after that I just got into the habit of editing old ones, this was my second attempt to make new spells by editing existing ones, my previous map which used the same method had the same problem as my current one. However that map wasn't as good as this one, so I didn't investigate the cause as much as I am now.

I've recently attempted to test with completely new spells, however UMSWE 3.6 doesn't seem to see them. While the official WE can, so I can't add them to my existing map.

I'll create a new map using the official WE with completely new spells, and I'll tell you if that works. If so, then I'll ask about why the UMSWE can't see them.

Maybe i missed something, but what spells did you actually change ? Did you rename them ? change their icon ? I know it would be in you slk & txt files, but as far as i can see, all of your heros have been given normal spells with original name - it doesn't help finding out what you changed.

lol, yes yes, you're right, you probably couldn't pick up on the changes. Strange, I used excel to highlight the ones I changed, perhaps you couldn't see them. Anyway, here's the list...
Mirror Image
Resurrection (changed to a form of protection scroll)
Death Pact
Rain of Fire (no change in the name, just the stats of the spell)
Rain of Chaos (only stats and description changes)
Mass Teleport (edited ever so slightly)

I must admit, I changed all the files again for my newest patch, essentially I tried creating brand new spells instead of replacing. Although the bug isn't gone completely, it occurs much less. And even if it doesn't load the .txt files in time, the actual mechanics of the spell do. So essentially the spells work ok now. If you have any other ideas as to the cause, please tell me, thanks.
