The Demons Within

Nearly 11000 years before the coming of the Legion, elves controlled most of the world. The centaur were viscous, but too few in number too rule. The elves were immortals, honing great powers from the lake of energy at the center of their civilization.

Sarilis 'Oblivion' Menasse was a powerful elf; grand in the powers of sorcery, even enough to gather attention of the Legion. His immortality allowed his power to grow by leaps and bounds, surpassing any other denizen of the Night Elves' world. A throng of centaurs, hungry to see the elven race falter, attacked Sarilis' stronghold with the result of the elf's death. Upon death though, Sarilis' spirit could no longer restrict the magics within his physical body. The release of power killed every last centaur that came in the attack, and sought the attention of Sargeras.

Sargeras, being of great influence over the slightest of corruptions; used some Satyr-demonically corrupt night elves, to collect the energy released and concentrate it into a gem. Over 230 years the power was gathered into a gem...Sargeras now had one more reason to enter the elven lands.

Once into our world, the Titan took the gem and had his forge craft it into a blade of immense powers...forming the sword now known as Oblivion's Soul. The sword has not been hunted for more than 7000 years; the dwarves have risen, the humans have risen, the High Elves broke from the night elves, and the centaur have grown somewhat powerful. Dwarves, a race of fortuneseekers and constitute warriors, were perfect for the task of finding such a treasure.

The Dwarven King, Margodan, ruled lightly on his people socially; but when it came to laws of trade and commerce, the slightest misdameanor was punishable by death. His method of rule allowed business and civility to flourish in the lands of Khaz Modan. Most dwarves loved the wealth that Margodan built for them, but some wanted more...some wanted personal power.

Raggin Kemnog was a greedy dwarf, not for wealth, but for power. He hated all and harassed any who were weaker than he. His fighting prowess earned him loyal followers, men willing to fight along Raggin's side. After a year of gladiator style fighting for King Margodan, Raggin and 13 dwarven warriors were preparing to leave the lands of Khaz Modan in search of an ancient sword rumored to have been wielded by the fallen Titan, Sargeras.

If anyone wants to use this in a map/campaign, feel free to do so as long as you give me credit for what aspects you use.

Also, just so people reading this thinking about using the storyline in a map-

The intent is to play as Raggin, who's demon within is greed. He finds Oblivion's Soul and to activate its whole power, must sacrifice his current body to Sargeras, who then gives Raggin a body capable of utilizing the swords whole power. At which point your control changes to King Margodan and his men, seeking to protect their empire by killing Raggin.

I doubt Sargeras (Check up on your history. He didn't enter the world around the time of the Night Elves, but according to WC 2 manual, did eventually, then Aegwyn fought him) would use a sword. He's a frikkin' God!! :D
I'd just make it another demon (Dread Lord perhaps, during the first invasion) to avoid any inconsistencies. That'd work. :)

The Dwarven king's name is Magni. At least the king of Ironforge.

Other than that, it's pretty good and basic. I'm curious to know what else happens during this quest (Try and avoid Lord of the Rings ripoffs, with the sword possessing people or whatever).

I've never read LotR, or seen the movie (Buying it shortly to see what the hype is about) so if I rip anything off it is unintentional. Ok, 10000 years ago is when the Legion invaded, so I could change the period it took the Satyr to collect the energy to around 1000, keeping the story consistent with the timeline. And instead of Sargeras, a generic but powerful demon. Cenarius and the NE fought off the Legion, and according to my story, the energy that composes the sword would be greater than any single being at the time. If it was that powerful, I'm sure a demon would be intrigued to the power source.

Magni...wasn't thinking about that at the time, perhaps the dwarf you play as to defeat Raggin would just be a general in Magni's army, or a commoner who finds greatness in his quest to slay Raggin.

Anyways, thanks for pointing out inconsistencies.

Lord of the Rings- Well, the focus of the triology is the 'one ring'. It has the soul of a dark lord, as you'll see, and the heroes set out to destroy it. However, the ring attempts to corrupt anyone who uses it (And fortunately a young, innocent hobbit has it, and is good against temptation). What I read of the crystal there reminded me of it.
Compare it to Frostmourne too.

Glad you appreciated my suggestions. I know some lamer's who don't care what people think, as they mess up Blizzard's universe.

People who ignore criticism just continue making low-grade work, the only way to advance your skill is to listen to criticisms both good and bad.

I'd like to add that I'm not some jackass going around whining, but I'm trying to help. *Sniff* I've helped some people, alongside the CC forumers, back in the main SC days and they've went on to do pretty good campaigns. :)
