Is there anyway to modify the ancients armour when uprooted?
Modifying it in the WE only works if they are rooted

I guess it is the uproot ability that directly changes their armour so I guess you'll have to spell/ability editing.

Doesn't this mean that you can actually change armour in game on a unit, with click of a button? And then connect that to other things (gold cost or something)?

In that case you could just base it off bear form and make it the same model but greater armor, and make a trigger that removes gold when used.

Hmm... Yes, and remove the change back button if possible. A permanent upgrade.
That'd be cool...

Illd rather just find a way of using the unit or trigger editor to modify the Ancients armour when uprooted.
btw you can change it w/ the unit editor but it only affects them if they are rooted.
Is there anyway you can detect when an Ancient uproots/roots?

Yeah, you would only need the "remove ability from unit" action. That would own. The only problem would be to check if you have enough gold. Maybe check when the order comes and then make him stop if you haven't enough money.

Or make him transform back? Gotta set the "transform" speed to like 2 :P. This way they almost wont notice anything happened if they didn't have enough gold...

Well, you can't change the transform speed :(

I think the order thing is quite fine actually. Just make it say "not enough gold" or something and maybe play the sound that say it. Tomorrow I think I will try it.

So nobody knows how to either:
A) Edit an ancients armour while uprooted
B) Detect when an ancient uproots (so i can replace it)
C) Edit the ability root, so it gives a different armour type when uprooted
Im pretty sure using bear form or something wont work or wont work well.

I'll check what can be done with the ability root.
...
Nope, sorry, the armor is not there in the abilitydata.slk. But it must be somewhere. Have you tried in the unitdata.slk? Maybe they just didn't insert it in the spell editor? Or maybe it's hard coded.

I think it's hard coded, nothing you can change, sadly.
