Animated skins

Does anybody know how to animate skin , I want my model to have a wind part , I want to put wind in the skin but i want it to move around

can any one help

.....u cant animate the skin.. u animate the model, so should i move this to modelling? cuz im confused overall..

War3 engine doesn't support animated skins as quake 3 or other engines that use Shaders. All the animated skins int war (e.g. water) are a sequence of replaceable textures, and define by the engine, so even with modelling being able to animate them, you'll need to create lots of blps.

i think that he might be talking about 'attaching' the wind to the model. like particle emiter maybe(i dont know anything about particle emiters so dont ask).

Some model have flame that burn on them , how do they do this

Well, if it doesnt work for skins, would it be possible to animate icons? (Like the autocast animation)

Those flames are just models attached to the unti via WE. Just look up for the model in MPQ.

And the Autocast animation are just those little stars. The moving and everything are activated by the engine, that moves them.

Just attatch a special effect, (UMS map editor files would surly find u something cool) to where ever your wanting to put the wind.
