I was just fooling around with spells and stuff yesterday and thought this might work. Maybe I could make a dummy skill on mirror image. Then change the graphics and everything, etc. Then I could have a trigger that would remove the illusion (if it is the same type of the char with the skill), then creates a hidden unit, order this hidden unit to bloodlust the character, and then remove the unit. I like this idea because the skill takes no target. I think I will have to make this hidden a unit a hero though with three different levels of bloodlust. Then when the hero with the skill gets another level in it, so will the hidden unit, so that way the hidden unit will cast an upgraded version of the spell. Think this might work? |

The above was supposed to be a reply to an earlier post of mine. Sorry, but here is what the scenario was. I was looking for a way to make a self cast bloodlust. Basically, I would like it so whent he spell is cast, it is automatically cast on the user and takes no target. |

of course it will work it will work with any not-target-spell but don't use mirror image because the casting unit will be knocked back when casting mirror image Use waterelemental, scout, stomp or whatever as base skill |

i would instead reccomend having one unit for each playerwhich has no model and no sight range (so they dont know its there, oh also make it so its ghost and invulnerable), rediculous mana regen so it will never run out (like 200 per second or something stupid) then teleport it to the caster of the spell (maybe use roar and give it 0 duration, that way no more units are made) make that unit cast bloodlust on the character then just leave him ther i would say use one unit for all, but this might screw up if 2 players cast within very close time of each other, and you could use this unit to cast other enhancements on the character as well, and scould make it level as the hero does if you wish to |

Aight, yeh, I was just thinking about the caster getting knocked back when casting mirror image. I assume you detect when those other spells are cast by doing something like: Unit is issued an order Order is equal to War Stomp/Scout/ etc. Thx for help |

i would say u should use the thing where it detects when the spell is cast, not when it is ordered, that can be foundin the trigger repository inside of mapdevelopement forums |

Guest | You idiot you can bloodlust yourself. and if for somereason you can't make sure under abilitydata.slk under blood lust the targets allowed box should say this "air,ground,friend,organic,self,neutral " |

Don't wanna start a flamer war but OBVIOUSLY the idiot would probably be the one who didn't read what I was asking. I was asking for a Bloodlust which you don't have to cast on yourself, you just click the skill and your are lusted, MUCH LIKE when you click avatar, the hero turns into an avatar. YOu don't have to target the hero for avatar. :nono: |

That custom spell enhancer looks likes good stuff, but is it hard to implement? I think for now I'll keep it so you have to cast the skill on yourself but after I finish my other skills I'll go back and redo it. Thx all for help. |
