Hi, I'm making a troll mod, and as you'd expect, I'm gonna need lots of troll voices. I do a pretty good troll myself, but I need more than just one voice. Can anyone help me. I'm also gonna need: Orcs Humans High elves Oh, and btw, what are peoples thoughts on making spiders talk? If you think yes, could you do a sample of what you think they should sound like! |

Pray tell, what work have you done on this? How long until you complete it? How do we know that - unlike many mods and campaigns - it will actually be finished? Quote:
Uh, like the Crypt Fiend? |

All very good questions, and the answers are: I've done all the skins for the trolls and woodland dwellers I've started composing the music for it The spells are 80% complete I've done the opening cinematic I've completed the advancement ladder and unit depenantcies for the trolls It will be completed, cos it's summer time and I've nowt else better to do. As for the crypt fiends, well, they're sort of a special breed of spider, thing is, if they're gonna be a full race, it's gonna be a bit boring if all the forest spiders do it hiss! Thanks for the Q's Magic, and did you do the voice of Martel in ROK? |

Can we see some screenshots of this? Skins, this cineamtic (!), etc. It helps VA's join. Voice actors have to be careful what projects they join. For example, I did 30MB's worth of recordings for StarCraft: Armageddon's Call and uploaded it by 56k modem to FTP too. It seemed to be a great campaign, but was eventually scrapped due to lack of interest. That is a lot of time of mine thrown away. Sorry - I'm not trying to discredit you, I'm just explaining why VA's need to be cautious about signing up since it is risky. Spider voices - Well, look at the Zerg in StrCraft. A whole race with weird noises. Not very interesting to hear, but authentic and realistic. I'd go for voices for the more major units, but not for the small spiders. Presumably they (The Queens and big spiders) can speak, maybe in their own language, as they did build an empire and must be more intelligent than the other spiders. Yes, I did Martel in ROK, though it was on my old mic (I know have a professional Shure SM58). I'd rather work on your mod when it's complete, so I'll keep an eye open till then. :) |

http://www.samods.com/index.php?cmd=article&aid=3 Read this tutorial. It'll help get you recording properly. 8) Here's the line, Challis. Might be a bit weary, since I'm majorly behind on my sleep but I think it's good. Has only been processed for noise reduction and hasn't been pitched. Like I said, I won't commit to any projects unless I see proof it will be finished. |
