I was directed earlier to a post on the Battle.net forums that concerned bugs surrounding the Crypt Fiend unit that are often exploited. In that post, TCadwell of Blizzard responded giving hints to what will happen to Vanilla War3 upon the retail release of Frozen Throne.<quote>1.10 uses the TFT code base, while 1.06 uses the old 1.05 code base. When we release patch 1.10, it will fix this problem in classic.</quote>What does this mean for projects? I strongly recommend that any SLK modification and balancing on Campaign projects and otherwise be held off temporarily until the end of the month and the release of the 1.10 patch, unless you use TFT Beta to do your balancing. I will be doing more investigation of this subject between now and the release of TFT. This can have both positive and negative results. A likely result of this will be the inclusion of more files in w3m files for Battle.net playable maps. Another would be the possibility of some of the newer World Editor features being usable in Vanilla, such as more advanced unit parameters. Possibly the modified spells from the TFT World Editor will become available in Vanilla as well. Again, I urge all projects to spend the rest of this month concentrating on terrain, models, textures, and triggers. Save balancing and SLK modifications at this time until after the 1.10 patch becomes available. I will do more digging on this subject, as there has been no official notice stating that 1.10 will be released directly alongside TFT. |

hehe thats funny, i mention something about that and a bit later it's in the news .Yeah here at the NRM we already noticed this, and although we were able to fix it for now, it looks like we will have to redo the entire tech tree, and maybe more. it's sad, but thats what you get with expansions. This is one of the reasons my project has seen such little completed work, I'm keeping off most of the stuff until frozen throne is out so we have a better base to start from. |

Me too. TFT will have a spell editor... right? |

Yes, but it'll probaly be much like the unit editor, as in setting properties, a graphic, etc. basically nothing new but gives 99% of the people on Battle.net a program to build spells for thier oh so precious Tower defenses. |

Starcraft sound's so much better now, or even Everquest... I am losing my respect for Blizz, any ways what little i had left after what they did night elves, i already hate seing the nerfs, TFT stats, in RoC.It scared a lot of the people who were beta testing and playing RoC when 1.06 came out. |

the 1.06 patch fu.cked up in my opinon, mods had to do so much more crap, and it seems blizz is trying to add all the tools we use o so often into a nice new editor, but screwing up several things, plus TFT patches might only cause MORE problems. Still, Blizzard is losing respect in several places, but they'll have SC:ghost and so many obsessed fans and console nuts over that, so theyll gain respect elsewhere IMO Sc:Ghost will probaly suck, As there will be no editor. |

1.06 is a not as bad as 1.10, Everthing has now been ruined for most maps out side of ladder |
