Hey everyone, I have been trying to create my own spells by using this tutorial. I have followed ti exactly, up until the part where you add the altered .txt files back into the.MPQ file. It says it was successful but when i go into world editor, the new abilities i created do not show up in the list of abilities. What is wrong with this and does anyone have a solution?

create a folder called "Units" in your warcraft iii directory

C:\...Warcraft III\Units

and put all the .slk and .txt files in there. they should appear in the ability menu in the unit editor

Yeah, also i think WinMPQ makes a Units folder automatically, so if you make it save in WC3\Units it would eventually save it as WC3/Units/Units.

Just move the files of the second folder of units into teh first one :D

thanks everyone, i did that stuff. Now, when i go into the game to test it out, it says tool tip missing and shows the face of that programmer guy. And when i click on it, it takes away my skill point but doesn't give me an ability. Why is that?

After each time you save the map you have to implement the *.txt-files and the abilitydata.slk into the map (with winmpq).

I did that also. What i do is after editing the ability, i give my character in the map the ability and then save it. Then i implement the .txt's and .slk's into the map(i use TechMPQ). Then, i open warcraft 3 up and load my map but the tooltip is missing.

ok, now i used WinMPQ to implement them. I went in game and the icon for the spell(i am making a bigger version of blizzard) appeared but the description was missing and when i used my skill point to get the ability, it did not show up.
