How will TFT affect your mapping expirience?

For me, I'd say to the most extent because many things are limited in RoC.

My cinematic and RPG projects can wait till TFT. My football game, however, can be done without, so it affects me GREATLY.

I voted greatly. I have put my project on hold until TFT because there are going to be quite a few changes and hopefully should make things easier with respect to spells and triggers.

I am a little concerned however with changes to balancing and armour types etc - like with the patches. I find that with balances I also need to rebalance most of the maps I create because suddenly a mass of spellcasters cant kill my group of melee units etc... It does make it difficult, and while I acknoweldge that most of the balance changes are only minor, in a level in which you own a small army and cannot build more units, slight changes in the units armour type/damage/hp ect can have a big impact on the game.

Hence I have decided to delay my project until after TFT is released to avoid having to make too many changes to fix balance problems, and for ease of spell creation and triggering.

Just my thoughts,

I think it will help me loads with new units, heros and terrain. Which will give me more ideas and stuff to do. Im alos starting a wc3x campaign a bit after FT comes out so.

Well we will just have to wait.

Just the new editor alone would be worth the wait. We are still working on our new map. We have a lot to do on it before adding final unit balance and custum skills. But it will be in beta status untill we get our hands on the new stuff.

OK so ehm... I got a question if I finish my campaign at version 1.05 (just a pair of things must be done) will it be still playable in the next ones and/or in TFT??

Back on topic I say that that TFT will give a big plus to spell and upgrade editing. I can do alot of things myself without any special spell editor and stuff... BUT some things can't still be done in RoC like spell bufftips (new ones, not edited) because of the alt-code feature in TFT I they will be makeable. The spell upgrade requirement will not have to be the same as it's base spell.
So mostly it will just make things less complicated for me than before.

Luckily I'm making my current game "by the book", that means with no skins or anyother mpqing...Actually...maybe not, I do have a Juggernault and big trees, and wisp that look like magic runes. But I don't think it'll be a big deal once TFT comes out. If the wait bug is fixed, I might redo my triggers, though technically it should work anyway, since I'm using the "run trigger" to combine triggers.

greatly in the beggining because i belive TFT saves imported files (or at least Ability Data.slk + txt files) and that would make it SO MUCH EASIER to test maps. my campaing and multyplaer RPG are desperately waiting for it.

Greatly! Because I heard that FT editor will not fit old maps in...
So i pospone my map until FT release

My project is pretty much on hold until it's released. Some minor work is being done, but not much else. It'll have several spells and abilities, and maybe a few models, that I'll find very useful, and near-essential to capture the appropriate look and feel for what I'm doing.

Of course, there'll be all kinds of enhancements to the editor to play with, too, if what I hear is true.

It might affect me quite a bit, since I am looking forward to the new spells. (Blink!!!) However, I am continuing fiddling with my map since some spells and units will stay about the same. Only 11 more days!

The two things im most interested to see are the spell editor and the frog critter, im gonna make a more realistic frogger map then those ones you see, i should start working on it with a substitution unit though.
