Hi, I've decided to have a go at voice acting.

I've been told I do pretty good impressions and I've acted on stage for as long as I can remember, so now I'm gonna attempt this. These samples were recorded on my very crap mic I have at home, but I'm a music tech student, so I've got access to a recording studio!

Here's what's in the zip file:

Troll - My fave. I pitch-shifted this down -2
Orc1 - Did the same as I did to the troll
Orc2 - no effects used, just me dropping my voice
Peasent - my impression of the classic unit
Deamon - This one really hurts my throat! No effects used
High Elf Priest - sounds more like agent smith from the matix!
Footman - I wish I spoke like this one all the time!

OK, tell me what you think, and if you want me to do voices for you, post it up here or PM me

Cheers

I like those samples a lot! Very promising!

Visit the SAVAGE message board and have a look around:

Keep it up!

Magic
Always a pleasure to meet a fellow VA. :)

deamon - Very good. Same sort of voice I used for my Doom Guard voice pack. I don't know how to describe the voice in either instance - just low, 'growly' and very rough!
footman- Too short to effectively judge, but very nice and hints that it's very medieval indeed. I may sound crazy, but I think the 'Once' part sounds Liverpudian (Like one of the Beatles), and the 'Sire' sounds very much like the WC1\2 footman (Bill Roper I think).
high elf priest- Nice use of sounding 'elven' (All fine and heavily expressed), though there's a small lack inflection that you're asking a question.
orc1- Good. Nothing much to comment on,
orc2- Very good! Raising your voice when using a low budget mic never works out, but it has in your case. The 'Kill all' of the sentence - the loudest part- doesn't suffer distortion at all. Very well recorded. :)
peasent- *L*. Very Blizzard-like and fine.
troll - Interesting. Not really Blizzard like, yet it still works as representinga troll.

BTW, what equipment and software does a proper recording studio have? Shure SM58's and Cool Edit or something really much more professional? :)

Thanks for all the comments, and yes, the Beatles voice would've come from when I was doing a show about them, I played Ringo Starr for the best part of two years and it's hard to shake off!

The studio has:

5 sm58's
3 sm57's
2 capacitor mics
2 plate mics
1 MiniDisc mixing desk
2 computers fitted with Cubase SX
1 Reverb FX box
1 Random FX box
1 Compressor

And the best part of it is, I know how to use it!

I here what you were saying about the length of the footman clip Magic, so here's a longer one

Some of you may know this one from Warcraft 2 :TOD

Ya, sounds quite nice. The Footman is not at all deep enough enough, but the pronunciation and all is good. The Orc, hahaha that's the same voice I do for an Orc in an attempt to imitate Bill Roper's cool voice! I'll show you sometime. The elf, well, it's just a piece of empty MP3 file. Dunno what happened, but there's nothing I hear.

Anyways, good job!

EDIT:

Here are two old samples of mine. Both edited.

A demon -- originally in the spirit of Diablo, NaKrul etc. Not really Warcraft sounding. Pitch shifted - obviously.
A lich - a sample I created after I heard the Lich's voice on Blizzard's website. The effect on this one is too heavy, but hey, it was only a try - a first try. No pitch shifts made.
