text formatting

I got this to work once, but I'm not sure how...

What I want to do is exactly what the topic says, format my text. As in center, right align, etc. I know you can color it and all that jazz, but another trick I wanna do is bump previous text off the screen using many skipped likes, in such an effect as was used in some starcraft maps of the past (yes, people did this outside of the briefing screens, it was uncommon but it was done.) Is there any way to do this?

Edit: sorry if this has been answered already, but I did a frikkin search on it and nothing turned up.

Edit 2: also, before you say such a trick would look newbish, I'd like to make text seem to fade to different colors as well. It would give quite a neat effect.

Edit 3: Obviously, I've tried the above trick already. Didn't work. Eventually I tried using so many blank lines that the text went past the bottom of the screenemote_sweat

What the? If you align two text messages to the center, either it will pop downwards or get overwritten. Which of them it is I don't know.

Why are you so stupid not to try with another line of text or two BEFORE you do 50000 spaces?

Back to the topic: So you want to have your text centered, lefted or righted? (hehe) there is no text formatting code built into jass unfortunately so spaces would be the only way to do it. You could also do transparent X's or something as spacers so you can count them if you have to.

goddamn it, that sucks :( Do you think TFT might add in some new stuff?

And also dead-inside, please be quiet. I'm not sure what you meant and I did mention that I tried it before and dont know how it worked (the text was manually :( centered and towards the top of the screen, but that is NOT what I want to do.) Centering would be very useful but I want to add in a fading color effect to several parts of the map to make certain things look like crappy computers and such. So please, don't flame unless you know what the hell you're talking about
