The new TFT editor has an "interface editor" where you can change the graphics for all the ingame UI stuff. Anyone know if it would be possible to replace all of these with transparent images so the menu wouldn't show at all? That way we could have full screen FPS mod and cool stuff like that :) Even better, with the new import manager somebody could just make a .zip of files to import if you want the GUI to disappear! :D |

Actually I'm 99% sure this can be done. If you make all of the UI Glues needed 100% transperent, theoreticaly you should be able see everything in full mode. Kinda hard to cast spells or select items if you can't see them, however. Actually, I wonder if the buttons for the items would show and the borders and stuff would just be gone. That would be really cool. :D By the way, Data, haven't seen you around here much. Just here cause TFT is comming out? [edit] the UI\Console\(Whatever Race)\*.blp(s) are the ones you need to change, btw. I'll try it if no-one else wants to. |

Test One - Alphaing out a piece of the console completely. It appears all black underneath... [edit] IMPORTANT INFO - Even though the console can be removed partially, it's not like you can click to move anywhere that the console was at originally. It seems that blizzard set the playable field area to what we already see, which is like wide screen mode, er sumthin. Not that useful in the long run. Plus, it's about 5-10 files per race, and since there's a max limit to imported files, I'd save them for something more important. |

Guest | Accually the max of imported files is 1068, which is way more then you will ever need. With maps, to get more then 64, you just have to hex edit the first 500 bytes or something. |

Well, seeing as everyone is going to be taking advantage of the fact that there are arrow key events (you can even hold 'em down) in TFT, I don't think not being able to click where the GUI was will be much of an issue. The issue is whether or not we can get that fully transparent or just black ;) Also -- in TFT, if you specify a blp that isn't 32-bit for a unit, it makes the entire UI outline black in game, kind of like that screenshot but for the whole thing. P.S. Yeah I'm here for TFT, reserved my copy ;) The editor r0xx0rs and I can't wait to do cool new shiznit with it. Although I've already thought up about 10 things I wish it had.... |
