No1 Ever Finishes Their Cinematics

DEMANUFACTURE
I swear i have been here on this cinematic forum for quite awhile and no1 ever finishes what they say they are going to make...except cotn....all these cinematics that i see being posted up as new projects i know will probaly fade out of existence....out of the months i have been on this forum i dont think i have seen anymore then 3-5 cinematics released out of the 20-30 that were advertised....I've been guilty of it too, my forsaken project fell apart after i started working on people's campaigns and things....i dont know maybe from now on we can all get something to show for our work before u post a thread instead of posting a ton of threads that state nothing more then plans for a project that will never be anything in the end...

My guess is that most of these projects will not be finished. Mostly ppl just start out setting their goals too big and expecting to do too much. I am not saying that setting goals high is a bad thing but creating a vast world map with a huge storyline and a planned 15 parts is alittle bit extreme. I think the projects that will finish are the single map ones and smaller projects. So i would strongly urge the people with huge cinematics to please rethink your goals and maybe narrow your hopes. Shooting for the world is one thing, shooting for the throne of the world is another. In other words set your goals high but keep them narrow, it will be alot easier to acomplish.;)

Hmm...
I have a worldmap...
I have 16 parts...

Hmm... must find a way to simplify. Maybe I can smear some stuff together to get rid of a part or 2.

When I do a cinematic I don't plan on how big or long it should be. It shall be as long or as advanced as the Storyline, because that is pratically what it is. A story. How many parts there is is decided of how many tileset's I'll need.

Dude I swear to god you'll never even reach 10 parts(depending on how long they last of course), I thought I could do that but sooner or later, you'll figure out it requires way too much time, and you might lose a bit of interest in the process. :gsmile:

I know exactly what you are talking about ...

Starting something and then simply losing interest in it. it's kinda sad really, cuz once you lose interest in something, it takes actual effort to continue, and unless ya'r really good, it'll be forced and unnatural, ruining it altogether.

It's a sad human side. :(

I promise my project will be done before 4:00 tomorrow morning since I am hopping on a plane and going to oklahoma until july 1 when tft comes... and I announced it yesterday... so don't expect me to go to sleep or anything cause I can do that on the plane.

Part 2 of my cinematic will be done soon but I had to put it off cuz of school and such...and the fact that I lost it. Autosave every 2 minutes now lol :ggani: . It may take a while because have to create this huge city and so far it looks pretty good imo, but needs some detailing work. From there the rest is easy and I can't wait to start scripting it and putting it all together.

95% done... I told you i'd finish it. All I have to do is make a skin and change the weapon amination of 2 units and then i'm done... It's less than 1.5 mb... but i can't get the sound to play (regular unit firing and stuff) in the cinematic...

remove 3d sound, set it to general -- looping ambient.

I am not working on anything right now due to exams and some other things in real life (yes, I do have a life ;)), but I'm sure to start working on a new cin soon. But like others, I will not make a new thread or say much about it before having (most of) the work done! I don't want to create a hype for something I might nevevr finish/complete! I learned my lesson with tLoN!
But I have quite a lot of ideas, and MANY unfinished maps to finish, and since the summerholidays are coming, I'll be sure to get working again :D

Hmm, I guss I sould remove my matrix arena thing in my post, due to a computer crash that ONLY EFFECTED WARCRAFT I lost my work on it, and besides a mod team scooped me up and ask me for help so I've been working for them, hmm, exuses, excuses, but would you expect someone with sloth in there name do finish his projects...
