i've been working on an RPG for The Frozen Throne. Right now i have only done a small portion of the opening "cinematic" (quotes because the cinematic is interactive, ie you get control of the character in the middle). Right now i'm working out a few bugs from that but i thought tonight would be a good night to start recruiting beta testers. If you are interested PM me, i will be releasing a 'sneak preview' version in about a week or so. Please only apply if you are willing to find some bugs or give some tips about the map.

here are a few screenies:

i know but the hero glow for TFT isn't being removed using that method, i already posted there... it only removes it in WorldEdit the way they do it.

The low temperature mustve set the crysal on fire.

Eh, dunno what science class yer talking, but I've never heard of something burning because it's cold. Blue fire, which might be associated with cold because it's blue, is actually really damn hot.

lol sure, the northpole is like hell on earth, it's flaming mad!
And my freezer, I can't put meat in it because it'll burn!

Heavy sarcasm =), but no, nothing burns when it gets cold.

To make it more scientifically correct (although I don't know why, it's a fantasy world, and it's your game) you could say that the vapor is so cold it burns (i.e. freezer burn or something). Like how your cheeks get really raw when its all cold. Frostbite etc.

ok, ok it doesn't light on fire per se but it does go through a process similar to burning. And TKATK is right, the more fantasy the better.

btw, screw PMing me ill just release a beta here on wc3c and whoever wants to give me feedback can.

Alright I've removed all the redundant posts, since if any of you have ever read a physics book you'd be making a lot more sense then you did. The part about burns even below 0 degrees celsius was correct, the definition varies slightly but the effect is still the same - just to put that into pespective; nitrogen boils at 77 Kelvin (-320 Fahrenheit, -196 Celsius).

I'm not here to perpetuate the physics debate, but learn to read what people say before responding with a hackey answer. Just because something is constant within our current bounds and knowledge of the Universe does not mean that it's not possible. Blackholes and similiar theoretical anomolies break the second law of thermodynamics, but just because they do that doesn't mean we just ignore them or try and revolve them around our predefined notions. Even Voyager has been challenging the fundamentals of Relativity of late, spawning the revival of all the previously-thought 'wacky theories' involving dark matter and so forth.

"A closed mind is a dangerous mind, because it is ignorant of change." -- Me, just now :P.

But I digress, it is just a game after all...

The map looks interesting piRo, are you going to expand any further on the idea of setting runes in orders, traps etc? I'd offer to test it, but I'm getting TFT legit and it doesn't come out here for a few more days. And PLEASE get someone to proofread the writing. I'm not saying that yours will be riddled with errors, but bad spelling in something which I expect to last quite a while is a pet hate of mine, as it instantly points towards a disappointing effort. I've played so many RPG's where I need a translator just to find out what my quest is.
