I have been editing the Skeleton skin lately, and Im having problems with giving the shield it uses a new color. It just changes to the color of the player it uses.

I have tried to delete the alpha channel in that part of the skin but it didnt work....

Any help?

Make sure that after you remove that part of the alpha channel, that you save the alpha channel.
If you are using PSP that is. Don't know how its done in Photoshop, but I'd assume the process is fairly similiar.

if u didnt understand Ian i'll make it simple

If your using PsP read On, if Photshop i'm not sure

After removing the alpha channel over the skin, goto the Masks menu and hit save to Alpha channel, then you will see it says New Alpha Channel and Alpha Channel #1, click on Alpha Channel #1 and hit save, it will ask if you want to overwrite it, hit yes. Now hit save and the alpha channel is gone :D

I am having the same problem, and I alpha'd out everything and saved it... So now instead of having the textured team color, its just completely solid red. I will try again but im pretty sure i followed the instructions.

edit: What I want to do is make the cape of the rifleman dissapear. I cannot remove the alpha channel because then he will have a solid colored cape. But if I leave the alpha channel there to make the cape transparent... well then I get the team color. Any suggestions?

gotta use model editing for that, cause the way bliz did it is some parts of the skins use the Alpha for removing stuff, other parts use it for team color, so you cant remove stuff that uses it for team color without model editing, sorry :nono:

I find that the best way to remove alpha channels is too use a white brush after you load it and hit edit.

So I cant get rid of the cape without model editing???
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO (I have been working on this skin for hours {sadly most of that time was me trying to figure out how to get rid of something I thought was not supposed to be appearing, and then i realised it was the sight for the rifle and not a random black line LOL})

Is there any other way to do it? I saw some thing up top about removing hero glow and team glow or something? How does all that work (i know it uses some external thing) and would that work with what im talking about?

thats .mdx (aka model) editing, it just removes the team color instead of the cape.

Oh..... Well than I guess that will work for me... if the cape is the team color no matter what... and I want to get rid of the cape... then that would work... hmmmm (is confusered) Also slightly off-topic here lol, I want to make the butt of the gun darker, but the burn tool seems to have a much more drastic effect in psp 7 than it does in 8, in like two click i turn the wood completely black... to make the change in darkness slighter, do i change the opacity of the burn brush, or do i change the density?
