Remember all the times Blizzard responded to the question "Can we do this?" and they said "yes, but we wouldnt recomend it."?

This is prob one of the reasons it wasnt recomended. It is unfair of us (who have hacked the hell out of what they gave us) to expect them to support our modifying of thier program. Especialy since it would require them to study what all we have done to make thier updates compatable with our hacks and mods.

Its unfortunate for mappers/moders but we have been here before. Welcome back to square one. It is a much nicer square than before tho. In the end we all will be able to make much better maps much easier. We think this is a good thing and welcome it.

Go Blizzard.....its your birthday!
:D

I did mention on this forum several times over the past few months that the AbilityData.slk format would be changing, and that existing customized versions of this file would need to be converted. That being said, we are looking into improving the editor in a future patch to make this transition a little easier.

Also, note that the patch MPQ is not "encrypted", as everyone is assuming. We simply changed the compression type to ZLib (used to be PKWare), which improves the compression ratio and reduces patching time and bandwidth.
