Guest | was wondering if there's a list or what not that explains the limitations of each ability for UNIT/ITEMs like.. i wanted to give a Hero "Repair" ability thru item option but it didnt work. but if you give him "Repair" thru his Hero ability option. it works.. >_< i found that wierd cus Defend works when put on item Option. I tried giving a Hero "Load(Orc Burrow)" and it crashed :p why can't he swallow the cargo and stuff? ^^; I thought the "Blight" was targetable so I put it on an item. but it only blighted when the item was picked up, did not blight when dropped. also checked if Blight was carryable by putting it on a Hero ^^; only 1time Blight on where he spawns. still dunno how the "AOE Damage upon death (Big Mine)" works.. i picked up and dropped it and the Hero exploded with it but it didn't trigger on another try ^^; and it seems that "Item" abilities that are like spells, need to have charges in order for them to work... like Cyclone :_: i had it Charge 0 Active 1 Perish 0 Drop 1 Drop Die 1 and it no work, but it did work when i set charges.. and i noticed that if i give a hero -"replenish life/mana" it'll scroll off the icon list so does the shift to the left icon apply to this too? thought that it would shift to where the Repair icon slot would be. yeah and like.. Area type spells (Blizzard) don't overlap with Single Target spells like (Cyclone) and i dont think that Area type spells can overlap with other Area type spells. well certain types at least like Bizzard + Rain of Fire can't overlap ^^; though Healing Ward (Item) + Item Area Heal/Mana Regain works ^^; and it eats 2 charges when used.. and is there a difference for the added types of abilities? like is Repair and Repair (Human) different? like Repair(Human) only works for Human? cus Cyclone (Cenarius) works with any hero charged on an item and dont really see a diff.. so why 2 type of Repair? ^^; so is there a list somewhere for this that explains what everything does limits?/restrictions? the accompanied manual to the editor/game don't extensively explain all things -.-; thanks :) |

Guest | :) You've probably just posted the most information on that miscellanous stuff than anyone else has or ever will:) . Weird stuff, keep up the research. |

Guest | Putting a cargo hold on the hero requires that you give him three seperate abilities: Cargo Load (responsible for the load restrictions) Cargo Hold (responsible for managing the cargo in the hold) Cargo Drop or Drop Instant (responsible for removing cargo - the first takes an X,Y the second drops the cargo at whatever point the unit is). That should work, although the button positions will likely overlap with other spells unless you create an uberAliased version of the Load and Drop abilities (so that you can move their button positions). Alternatively you could just move the button positions of the Load and Drop abilities for all units up one row (I think that should work fine - although it may conflict with Patrol or Hide). |

Guest | The difference in the repair abilities is that one is used by the orcs (the unlabeled version), and the other by humans (since they have powerbuild). Restoration and Renew are the Undead and NightElf versions, respectively. |

Guest | The reason that repair won't work when placed on an item is that it is an autocast spell. In fact I think that all of the autocasts won't work when placed on items. Perhaps this will be addressed in an expansion or patch. |

Guest | LOL!! omg lol thanks alot for the tip on needing all 3 of the 'load/unload/drop' :P I swear i died laughing when i loaded and unloaded a group of peasants off my Paladin ^_^;; the skill part seems wierd tho :P wish the load/unload was in the center portion instead of the bottom row ^^; but i can probably fix with the MPQ thingy but dont wanna :) ((i used the Goblin Zepplin version of load/unload/drop so the icons for em was where my hero abilities/spells would be)) for repair not being able to put onto items, i dont think it's related to 'autocast' really.. might be something else since "Cyclone" isnt autocast :) though when I rightclick to 'auto' i can hear the 'bing' for the ones that allow autocasting. tried it with searing/cold arrows, did same bing so autocasts seem to not appear,(didn't test all) not sure if the arrow effect came on either didnt notice yet from it :) but why would Defend work on item and cyclone not if cyclone not autocast :) hmm for the 2 versions of repair.. didnt know the human one was more powerful O.o never noticed :) that mean the skills with multiple versions are supposably stronger or weaker? theres like 3 - 4 diff cyclone versions.. dont really see a diff.. sorta like the Heros.. there's like 2 of the Tauren Chieftan hero guy... one of em says (Cinematics) which has no noticable diff ((at least to me) to the 'normal' one. |

Guest | i'm thinking... maybe defend works on items and cyclone doesn't because it's a passive ability... [ edit: hmm, maybe not... I'll refrain from unfounded babble here-in ] of course, i wish to add disclaimer to this: I am a war3 editing noobie... i could be wrong. |

Guest | you have to click it to defend, unclick to undefend.. (so maybe thats why it works since it's 2 mode/icons ?) few others i checked are the "Forms" Stone/Crow/Storm Crow/Bear... *they don't work on items.. (i didn't test them seperately so not sure if they work invidually but most likely not ) :) more fun with Cargo :P I don't think it works with Devour. I gave Hero - Load/Unload/Drop (Goblin Zepplin) then gave him - Devour/Devour Cargo *there's 2 Devours (tested both seperately with the Devour Cargo) Devour will overwrite Load/Unload/Drop ^^; you devour something, and the 'unload button' appears and doesn'tdo anything :p "can't devour target" for clicking 'unload' you can't load units either :p ^^ hehe.. Gather Gold/Wood on a hero hehehehe.. Wisp version :P that would make a nice hide&seek map ;p -needed to research the ones that dont work to appear such as pillage- still can't seem to figure out how the AOE Damage (Big Mine) / Exploding mine thing works o.o seems to be a proximity thing and not carryable or something. was also wondering why I can't select hero abilities to carry onto items , oh well guess they're specific for heros only then :P woulda be nice to make abilities dumped onto Items.. would make customizing heros invidually in game _fun_ :P |
