If possible, how do you skin using the Import Manager in TFTWE? I tried a few things, and nothing happens. |

yo don't skin using the import manager of TFT, you make a skin on your own, convert it to blp, and use import manager to import the skin to whatever directory you want. |

I do have the blp image, that I converted with Image Extractor. I know how to import it into the map, but I don't know how to put the skins on units. I have a demon hunter skin, when I put it into the map it gives me a diffrent path "wc3mapimported\HeroDemonHunter.blp". I might of typed the wrong 'slash', so ignore that. But anyway, I put this path in the unit editor for model, but it doesn't work because it looks for "mdl", not "blp". Maybe I have to change the path string, but I'm afraid it'll mess up the war3.mpq, because the editor says it that a path might overide the one of war3.mpq. So will it actually mess up my main mpq if I change the path to "unit/NightElf.../HeroDemonHunter.blp"? |

Guest | You can change the path by choosing "Modify Properties" or something along that line. Then you can just make it the original DH path to replace it (just like you would do importing it before w/ something like WinMPQ). It won't mess up your MPQ as it is just localized to that map. Now if you were to try and import your texture into war3.mpq or war3x.mpq using WinMPQ (or some other MPQ program), then yes, it would mess your mpq up :D I also believe you can re-import the demon hunter model under a different name, and if the texture has the same name, it can be used on a custom unit. The unit editor will allow you to select custom models (even from the import manager) but not custom textures. But I believe it will automatically look for textures of the same name in the same dir as the model. I havn't tried it personally but it should work. Of course the model is extra filesize space on your map, but if you need the Demon Hunter still, that might not be a problem. |

the mdx file has a path in the beggining describing what skin to use. |
