hmmm....newbi skinners ( no offense ) offen do recoloers ( i don't mind it ) but when someone says hmmm....5/10 cuz it's a recolor or something like that...the creater of the skinn ALLWAYS say IT'S NOT A RECOLOR !! and it all ways it.....so why do they say it's not ??? i don't get it |

i colored it all yellow. then used the burn n dodge tool to make it pop out then i used noise filterz |

Yoda... Remember to pick full sentences, he said he then burned & dodged and filtered it. But anyway, a few tips: -People here LOVE to see DETAILS, if you can detail your skins well then no doubdt you´ll get well known. -Simple changes aren´t that popular, so by remaking his cloak you aren´t yet showing that much skill. -People here dont like if people COPY & PASTE things onto their skins, take an picture of something, then copy it and paste onto their skin. Never do it if you dont want to get a few or more flames directed at you... -NEVER do an armored blade master or demon hunter, also never do an human demon hunter. Those all have been done a kazillion times, we dont want to see more of those. ^^ -Chaos orc shaman has also been done... -Recolors are pretty cheap, no one get´s famous for recolors... -Read the sticky posts in the skinning & texturing forum and you´ll be a lot wiser than a bunch of "no-name" people who have been here... -The more the time and effort you put into an skin the better it´s chances of getting famous. I did pick a full sentence. Note the period at the end. Periods are the end of a sentence and that sentence clearly has all the right parts a full sentence needs... besides, I personally found it rather funny... |

I wouldn´t be THAT sure about it... IMO recolor is something that simply changes the color of an object without changing the texturing in the area. Basically, he did neither a full scale re-skin or a 100% recolor... :bgrun: It´s not a full re-skin as, well, can you call repainting a cloak a reskin? And not a full recolor as he still reshaded it... A 100% recolor would be a color balance tint or a hue change... Or painting with a low opacity brush... |

I wonder sometimes if the people who just tint a skin yellow or something realize that you can tint skins in the world editor... |

I love that option in the world editor. Too bad it can' tbe smart about various colors for different parts of the skin, like seperating skin from blothing and weapons. Once I made a pretty keen looking dark troll look like a jungle troll and made it into a new unit for the Horde to build. Too bad it had to use blue axes :( |
