Noobie AI help needed

Ok, I am making a campaign map, where you must use a Hero to help defend a town from an attacking force and eventually destoy the attacking forces camp.

So I need a comp AI that will build a base, attack and defend.

I am using TFT editor and new to this, so please send me some advice on the AI. I have been testing, but they only seem to want to mine gold. Thats it. They dont build any structures or anything like that.

Please help me out.

Basically I want the comp to act like in a meleee map, build a base and attack a different base, just with no heros.

Do you want it to creep ?
Have you tried the TFT AI editor to make an AI?

Modifying the standard melee AI to work without heroes is not that simple because there are many references to heroes in there. If you still want to do that I can give you further help on the subject.

Yeah, i am using TFT editor. But they dont have a standard Human AI for melee that i can edit. I just saw an ORC one that I think I can tinker with, but I was hoping there was a Human AI.

I just went in the AI editor and opened GruntMaster AI.

I can't seem to understand what the problem is here... just use a standard melee AI. And if you don't want it to make heroes disable them.

I haven't gto acess to TFT, so I don't know what you can do with the AI editor...

Just as Looc says. Just disable the Altar for them. I think it's in one of the tabs if you press Forces(can't remeber since I don't have the prog up)

When I set it up to use the Standard AI, all they do is harvest gold, thats it, they dont build or do anything except mine gold. Thats the problem I am running into.

But since you guys seem to know something I dont, how should I enable the standard AI? IE: What trigger should be written?

I have no knowledge regarding creating an AI layout, but I can tell you about my experience when I made a new race melee map in RoC 1.06.

A lot of the buildings and whatnot were based off of stuff that's not part of the usual build cycle, which meant that the AI couldn't really handle being a player at all. I decided not to fix that and to have it be just a human-players only map, but while testing I noticed that the AI tends to build what it can of its original units and structures, and when it gets to one it can't build, it stops trying. It will continue to create units from before that point, but it doesn't seem to want to go any farther.

This leads me to say that just removing the ability to create heros wouldn't solve your problem. I'm guessing that you'll have to go into the AI and remove mention of the heros from it.

That said, I'm only postulating, and if someone would put a ton of holes in my theory, well, I'd learn at bit.

With the AI editor in TFT you can change how the build their tech tree and attack/defend. It will take some work but you should be able to do the whole thing without custom scripting.
