Allright.. This is loosely based off of DOTA/AOS style maps. I'll of course add some new twists to the gameplay and everything else. But the style is having a computer control an army and you are backing them up or the army is backing you up with your hero. It will feature all new TFT based units and it will have some interesting additions to the mix.. I'll explain some of the screenshots listed below. Map Features
The screenshots I decided to throw on my server. They are located here and are updated regularly. http://www.fantom-stranger.com/~ment...s/screenshots/ Also.. Seems a good idea, but regarding the screenshots, the bases look kinda dull, the terrain itself needs a bit of work Apart from that your concept is good with the artifacts Keep up the good work |

Well I don't have TFT so I can't suggest any of those units, but here's some ideas... For Nature: (these are just the models you should use) Towers: Ancient Protector of course... Heros: Water Elemental, Timber Wolf, Cenarius or Ghost, Preistess of the Moon Units: Ents, Spiders, Furbolg Mechanical: Towers: Guard or Cannon Towers Heros: Goblin Shredder, War Golem Units: Catapult, Corpse Wagon, Ballista, Steam Tank These are all I can think of for now. There doesn't seem to be many Machine units. |

Too many nature heroes... It's just too much for someone to handle the pressure of choosing which hero to get! :D BTW, I like the Elmo avatar! LOL! |

Constructive criticism, please dont take offense: Terrain is TD like. It looks unnatural and set up. However, you are making an AOS type of map, so using the height tool isnt required. If it was an RPG, I'd say it plain sucked, but for an AOS that terrain is good enough. The terrain on the first screenshot is definitely good quality for an AOS type of map. If you could have your entire map that way, it would look very good. The human base could really look better. The farm groups shouldnt be put that way.. Anyway, some advice: - Remove the trees in the water, and use the terrain modifier to create natural land scapes. When you remove the trees, there wont be a filesize difference. So it looks better and just as big. - Base should look natural. I dont know, kind of military like. Buildings spread apart, towers walled in (maybe using doodads as walls). Farms dont really look good as walls. Youre on the right track with the castle and cannon towers, that looks like a base to be defended, and is nicely covered by the trees. In overall, the terrain is good enough, but just that little bit extra would make your map stand out from the typical AOS maps. You did spend a lot of time on it, but there should be more detail on some parts. I cant judge the units, it looks good but you cant judge that from text. Good luck, looking forward to the release. Hope it has what it takes to take the AOS maps to the next level! |

Have to agree about the terrain. It looks like a RPG on gameboy. Verry unnatural looking. |

Allright well. First off I'd like to say thank you for all of those who have rpelied to inform me of troublesome areas. I have taken care of msot of these areas and I think you will find them a little better put.. http://www.fantom-stranger.com/~ment...s/screenshots/ I have 9 total new screenshots up and running right now along with 1 of the older ones showing the hero spawning area in the Nature side. I fixed up the technology side and I placed in the nature heros for now as well. They are also coming along pretty fine.. Don't see why you guys are having Ability problems... Hmm.. Oh well. Please reply to this if you take a gander at the map.. Even a one-liner reply is still good. |

Was kind-a hoping for a response about the new terraining I put up but it's cool. I didn't get to work on this much because I had my two real life jobs to deal with.. Same thing will happen today as well. But while I'm working there I think up the abilities for all of my races. So far I've come up with some cool things. Bear : Ability 2 : Morale Boost - The bear roars through the air that sends a message of victory to all his comrades. Their morale is boosted by granting them an armor bonus for a small duration. As the bear gets better at this, he is known to be heard in a larger area. Rock Golem : Ultimate : Infernal Combustion - The rock golem burns with fire inside so furiously that his body explodes into a volume of flame. The effect damages enemies around the Golem and the Golem now gets an additional hit point boost, damage boost and permanent immolation. However once in this form, he needs to wait a while before he can cool his body down sufficiently to be able to continue casting spells. Polar Bear : Ability 1 : Frozen Claws (passive) - Grans the Polar Bear claws of icy steel. On impact, the claws deal an icy blow to the target that adds damage as well. Those are just a couple of ideas I had about the whole abilities section.. :ggani: Didn't want to spoil it by telling everyone everything. |
