ok, if u ask some question like this, then nobody will answer. but i can help a bit. step1:make a box(or any shape that ur model is based on, ex. a head is based on a sphere(but i also use box)) step2:edit the box so it looks like the model u want step3a:give it uvwmap step3b:give it a skin(remember to unwrap it) Step4:export it using ur favoritt export program or plugin(i use republica's exporter, cus that support animation). Step5:import it into your map The most important step(if you dont follow this step, then ure a nerd or freak): Enjoy what ure doing, dont force your self to do it. Because if u enjoy this, you will get better result. |

i will help a bit too cos i kow u can draw :D from what mad lion said: When editing the box its good to use the " extrude" technique this allows you to add more onto this box and more n more etc, u build up from a box into a model ( hence box modelling ) you can also use the bevel technique which expands or shrinks the end of the polygon, after you start getting into this and you feel you cant go no more from that box create another box, use the techniques then when ur happy with them pull them together and attach them, i like to model one have of a model, then whe im done with it a mirror it so it has the exact effect on the other side, this may not be good for every model but its good for models u want symetrical. ( erm actually ) what program are you using ?? i use 3d studio max 5 so this is basically based from it after youve done the model to skin and animate it i sugguest going to the tutorials part of the site and reading "Nicoli_s" tutorial on " modelling, skinning and animating" this is only a breif tutorial but when youve created ur model it makes sense and u (hopefully) will be more comfortable with creating models. after you have pumped out a skin and imported it ur ready to do more n more. if you get stuck with any of this please ask more questions i will gladly help, and maybe pop a "new to modeling in wc3" tutorial out :gsmile: gl man :D |
