PandaBomb (Bomberman) Test

hey, i made this map in about 3 to 4 days, its essentially bomberman -- 4 person multiplayer, including crappy 5 single player levels i just threw together as a test, bomb pickups, flame pickups, speed pickups, diseases... stuff like that that u would find in snes bomberman

anyways, i was wondering if anyone wanted to give it a whirl and give me some feedback

especially on the controls, if u know how to make keyboard movement more responsive, i'd like to know, its a bit clunky, which makes it hard to get out of those tight situations sometimes

the actual game is based entirely on math, i used 1 location for the actual game

Pretty cool! There was a map like this but it sucked, yours is actually quite fun. Some things though:
- Cinematic has to go. Its multiplayer
- Panda looks like hes spastic? He keeps making movement gestures even though he stands still
- Reset the camera view to the overhead view every once in a while. I accidentally zoomed in and couldnt get back.

Nice job!

i dunno why u need a picture of a bomberman map, cause everyone knows what it looks like and theres not much room for creativity, but what the heck, i made one anyways

eh, ya, but i tried to make the cinematic more interesting by putting 4 randomized cinematics in... well, the non-text part anyways

oh, right, i was testing out repeating an animation constantly with the panda, thats why he's spazzing

i'll reset the camera every few seconds, but any idea about less clunky movement?

hmm, really, i find theres a .7 or so delay between hitting the key and getting an actual response...

well u know, roughly -- no ideas how to reduce it though? or does war3 just not let u go any better?

btw, any item ideas that wouldn't require a ton of triggering (push would be one of those)... i was thinking of something that would give u the purge or ensnare ability, cause as of now, u can de-buff urself by hitting directional keys really fast

i think it qould be abit better if the camera was a bit more zoomed in and followed you, because that zoomed out looks a wee bit odd in wc3 but thats just me, also i would make the space he moves with each press a bit more

Dude this game Rules!!!
You could also make it so that if you blow up a power up, the power up is gone.

Also throw in some of the other powerups. If you've ever played Super Bomber man 4 for the Snes. Each character had thier own special abilities.
One dude was a rocket dude, he would charge forward and everything infront and behind him would be destroyed.. Cept if it was a bomb or wall.
Also after using ablities you got really slow and your bombs were reduced to a one square untill you recoved.
Another dude was a laser cyborg, he shot a laser.
Another dude could go invisable for a while and he couldnt be hit but he could only stay in one place
2 other guys if they got close they scatter all your powerups all over the place.
There were a lot of other powerups too. a Power Bomb it made the first bomb you plant a super *** bomb. Also Kick, which lets you kick the bomb and throw and all that
Man im just blabbin' Here, Im sorry i wrote a lot lol
But i loved bomber man!

Ever played Bomberman for the TurboGrafix 16 (Also known as the "PC Engine")? Thought not. Oh well. There are a lot of power-ups in that that are interesting. Roller Skates make you go faster, there's a bomb control thing that lets you choose when the bombs go off, there's walk through walls, walk through bombs, flame, and multi-bomb. Um.. what else... Extra life? Guess that's it. All I can remember, anyway.

Never could beat that damn boss, but I still have the password to the final boss stage written down somewhere. 5 on 1 is a little unfair -_-
