I have a new Idea for a hero areana. I MIGHT make one, if im ever up to it... Ok Here is what I thought of, A) Custom Heros- You go to 4 Shops at the start of the game. Shops 1-3 Have all normal abilitys you can purchase and shop 4 has ultimates, but start out with none. As In, You go to the shops and buy item "Hell's Pillar" and then you get that ability. You can have up to 3 normal abilitys, and each one has 4 Levels andIs Based for a Certain type of hero (Strength, Agil, Intel, and all around). Then you go to a 4th shop and that has all ultimates. Each ultimante has 2 levels. You can have only one ulitmate. All will be custom OR modified skills. You then go to another Shop (Stat shop) and then customise your heros stats.. Each hero has 10 Strength, 10 Agility, and 10 Intelligence to start out with. You can also choose your avatar (what you look like) Just a thought. |

In response, I would like to know what do you think about this idea. And any spell Ideas would be Usefull, as i need 24 Regular Spells (6 for each, Strength, Agil, Intel, All-around), and 8 Ulties (2 for each, Strength, Agil, Intel, All-around).. Thx all |

I like your idea a lot, Thunder-Hunter. I'd want the map to be a very solid one, though, and I just don't think hero arena maps are particularly fun. So, maybe you could do it for an AoS? You could pick what your hero's primary attribute could be (via the usual pick-hero method) and then you could be prompted to select first, second, third, and ultimate slot abilities. Shoot, that sounds like fun. |

Thx. Well this idea could go for any map i suppose, but right now im making a Hero-Arena.. I think that there are too many AoS/DotA maps already... If someone could get me a working AoS map, i would mod it and add this idea EDIT: I suppose there are too many hero arenas... oh well i dont really care anymore I just want to see this idea in a map. I could do all the moddin if u wanted me to. All you would have to do is give me a map and any spells and junk you wanted in it |

may i ask how you intend to make the abilities have levels? or will they not use stat points and such? |

Well, with the TFT editor you can make them have varying levels and the such. If you have tft check out the spell editor... Btw they will be hero abilitys (or based off any ability includin items and units and then turned into hero powers EDIT: Well, I dont know what map exactly to work on.... I could work on a hero arena or an rpg or whatever. Ive got some spare time... want me to put this on ur map at all? |

i think theres already plenty of hero arenas, so if you make it that, your gonna have to add more than this kewl character building system to make it a solid map. try getting some new ideas from people to make it more unique... anyways, this sounds cool.. i tried doing something like in on an rpg map i was workin on, but never finished. i'd like to see this map when your done, maybe give you ideas on the way. keep goin! :D |

Sure u can give me ideas, and maybe do u want me to implement this into ur rpg? EDIT: Jumped the gun.... I only know how to add spells via triggers, but not make them like hero spells. Example: Adding "Fire Wall" but not makin him learn it so he HAS to put a point into it to actually get it... I hope this isnt confusing. If it is just ask for a clearer explanation. Thx for ur time |

Guest | First off let me say i love your idea... But heres the reasons why it won't work... 1) The only real way for you to have the unique abilities for each hero that can be upgraded via stat points a hero gets from gaining a lvl is by making every combination of hero possible becuase you can't to my knowledge add hero skills dynamically. 2) You will have to either take out every spell that has the same base code or check it with triggers to make sure you don't choose spells that are in fact the same spell just with modded stats. Those are the only big limitations i can find in your idea please prove me wrong in this if you can because i would love to see this be made into a pratical idea because then more maps could use it.... Techically its possible to do but it would only be usefull in like an RPG or other map that would only be played on one persons computer. |

I don't have much knowledge about Spells but, maybe this works. Example : If you buy a Coil Scroll lv1 (Or whatever) your hero learns a Death Coil spell (Based of the unit spell) Later you can buy (If yoi have enough gold) a new Coil Scroll lv2 lets your hero do an other Death Coild (Again based of the unit spell, only stronger) And much later the Coil Scroll lv3 for the last and strongest Death COil. I think this is supose to work. Anyway, I made something like that too in the past (Bit diffrent though) I did it with Circle's of Power. But I also used normal spells (ROC after all) I could just use the Trigger 'Add hero spell' (Or something) Perhaps this can be used for this too? Well...Good luck Thanks for your time Dark Dragon |

Guest | One thing that game crashes after you select the Attribs IE: Strength Agility Intelligence. Secondly Its all text based and from what i can see you don't get to select hero skills just attributes. He did a good job either way. |

There is a trigger to add ability to unit. So if the hero bought the items (lets say one that gives heal called "heal abillity"). And you have a trigger: Event: Unit uses Item Condition (and) Item used is (heal abilitiy) Triggering unit is type (hero) Event Add abillity (heal) to (triggering unit) I don't know the EXACT wording right now because I don't have the editor open. But its there. Then the ability WOULD be present for people t put their "ability points" from leveling up in. You could do the same thing for the Stat bonus items too. ------------------------------------------ Another idea would be instead of Unit Uses Item, try "Item purchased". Like so: Event Unit buys item Condition (and) Item bought is (heal ability) Triggering unit is type (hero) Action Add abillity (heal) to (triggering unit) remove item(heal ability) from unit(triggering unit) inventory. |
