Is it possible to un-research something like the defend skill? ~Talila |

I looked at this thread before but I realize that it is begining to go unnoticed, so I will answer (with my limited knowledge). There is an action command line called "Player - Set Current Research level" whose code which reads as follows:    Player - Set the current research Level of Defend to x for Player y (Color) Unfortunately, at the bottome of the Configure Action window, there is a notice which reads "Use 0 or 1 for simple tech, or 0..3 for three-stage upgrades. Tech cannot be unlearned through the use of this action." So there you have it -- despite Blizzard's elaborate World Editor, a simple task such as un-researching a technology is impossible. I suggest you use other unofficial and more elaborate editors. |

Try settting the max level for the tech to one higher. Make that tech lvl do nothing and have no art. When you want to undo a tech set it to that lvl. This wont work with everything since things like armor upgrades will still be in effect. This may work for things like defend tho. |

Depending on what upgrade, you might be able to go around this by making the x number in Hex's post an integer which you change and then set the upgrade to that... For most of the already existing upgrades in the game this will probably crash or make it not possible... BUT, I think they mean this, When you learn an upgrade, something changes in the game, if you unlearn it, the changes stay unless you do something about it... Regards Dead-Inside |
