I was wondering what triggers they used to go to another map? And I was wondering how they make the quest the same on every map? Do they save cach and at Map Inizalization they load it? Thanks. |

Actually, I believe you use the Campaign Editor. (Though I have not tried this) but it has a Add Map button and a unit editor in it for data that i assume would be in all the maps... |

Haha that's funny. If it's not possible than how do you expect that it was done as an official campaign? TFT brings plenty of new features so many things are possible that didn't used to be. I dunno how exactly to do it but I expect it involves the campaign editor to link maps. |

I head it somewhere... It's something that the greedy bastards kept for themselfs, maybe i does work.. extract the map and have a look |

Given the popularity of the StarCraft editor, which didn't give all the features used in the campaign, I think Blizzard learned that giving the customers more features in the editor was a better idea and if they already have the ability to do map linking they would give us that ability too (but not on bnet still :( ). Also I heard that the orc campaign was kind of a demonstration of the things you could do with the campaign editor, so it seems that the map linking features are a campaign editor feature. |

it isn't possible, the maps for orc campaign use special actions that only can be used in blizzard signed maps. If you don't believe me look in the game section of the actions list and you will see some actions that have to do with saving games. |

Umm... the map switching in the orc campaign has nothing to do with saving the game. You can play through the whole campaign without saving and there are no problems. |

Game - Load LoadFile.w3z (Skip scores) Game - Create a copy of the <Empty String> saved-game and name it <Empty String> Game - Save game as SaveFile.w3z and load LoadFile.w3z (Skip scores) Game - Save game as SaveFile.w3z and change level to Maps\MapName.w3x (Skip scores) Game - Rename the <Empty String> saved-game folder to <Empty String> Game - Delete the <Empty String> saved-game folder Game - Create a copy of the <Empty String> saved-game and name it <Empty String> All of this actions cannot be used in non-sign blizz maps and WERE used in the Orc Campaign to save the map data when you switched zones. Look in the Orc campaign map and you will see what I am talking about. |

I believe blizz said something about being able to link up maps. I think it went something like this: Quote:

Your ignorance is funny. Why don't you go check for yourself? It can only be used by Blizzard signed maps. |

Thats only half true, you can link up maps with game cache but it will take alot more work, I mean ALOT more. Blizzards way makes the whole thing much easier, saving everything in the map, just like a save game would. Only reason Blizzard isn't letting us do this is because the fear someone would put the save feature and use for "evil" purposes. |

So, the next obvious question is: What makes a map a Blizzard-signed map? Can we do some hex-copying to give a given .w3x file whatever property that it's looking for? Or, are they in our WE just for show, and we can't use them? In that situation, can we disable the thing which checks for the Blizzard signature? |

It's probably hella hardcoded because if people knew how to unlock hardcoded stuff, then we'll see "L33tULTRAMATICBEDMAUL" with the Blizzard sign. Then they will make programs that can do that, and everyone will start getting Blizzard-signed ****mauls. The point is that it's hardcoded, and to my common senses, I'm saying that they put an extra security thing on it. If you can do that, Panto, I swear I'll worship you :) I wish they allowed us to do that without these bullcrap. Having a worldmap on my RPG separately will be MUCH better than having the top-left corner as the worldmap :bgrun: |

Never said i actually knew if it could be done. I just said it might be. Also, blizz faq says you can do it via triggers. Though thats gamecache and is longer than how blizz does it. So... your ignorance is funny... |
