Do it normally like u do wit normal wc3 and import the file .mdx or .blp into war3xlocal.mpq cause import manager acts as if it can handle mdx and blp but it cant when u use the model thru import manager it appears unusable

CyborgDragon, that's misinformation on two accounts. Firstly, unless you're making a mod (and you shouldn't be, unless you're doing a huge game conversion), never never never import any files into any of the .mpq's that come with the game. You won't be able to play normal Warcraft 3 or TFT if you change these files. If you must import a file manually, import it directly into the map, which is itself a .mpq.

Secondly, the Import Editor accepts .blp's and .mdx's just fine. I have a map in which there are about 14 imported models and their portraits, and as many .blp skins, as well as about 10 more buttons and their disabled counterparts. All work properly.

You will successfully alter your copy of Warcraft 3 to play the map the way you want it to play, when you change the .mpq's. To have other people able to play them, you must ship the .mpq that you edited to them. It can't be done natively over Battle.net. And your map will have to be super hot stuff for people to willingly seek out an altered .mpq to play it.

Not neccesarilly if u play roleplays then u would know if u opened miyog's mrp that he put it in his mpq cause there are no models files in his mao but in his mpq and he shipped it thru battle.net and the model worked even if u didntplay wit him

That probably means he did put it in the map, or at best war3patch.mpq. For the sake of testing, adding files to war3patch.mpq used to be a convienient and easy way to get the look and feel of custom spells and skins in testing a map (because of the whole needing to reimport files every time you saved). Now using import editor is a much easier, albeit inconvienient way to permanently import files. (I really, really wish I could import a folder where all my files are, like Units/ or Textures/)

I see what u mean combatken but this map is for roc and it proves that ur able to import it into war3patch.mpq or war3xlocal.mpq and itll work

war3xlocal.mpq did not exist in RoC.

Yes, files imported such will work.
The real point, CyborgDragon, is that it is not a good idea to insert your files into an .mpq. You have always and will always be able to manually insert files directly into the .w3m or .w3x map file, the same as a .mpq. These will automatically transfer via Battle.net.

I know but that is the war3x patch mpq thus ur able to put it in there to work and some mdx and blp files dont work with the importmanager so u have to put it in war3xlocal.mpq now lets stop arguing and just end it

Not true. Please, we've already talked about this. Why are you constantly reiterating?

All compatible .mdx and .blp files work in the Import Editor.

EDIT: It looks like what Dark Dragon really wanted was to actually edit a model using an add-on to the WE. That's not possible right now. Such an add-on would be very difficult, as you would almost have to completely write a program for model editing (professionally developed tools of this sort run for thousands of dollars).

However, if you go over to the modelling forum or to the tutorials, you'll find assistance in figuring out the separate tools and techniques which you can employ to modify models.
