ok here is how i do it (its complicated but works) first i use the war3 image extractor II to get my model (they are in some strange places use ctrl+f) then i save it as a .tga the next step is to open it with photoshop (or whatever u use if anyone else is reading this) edit it then save it still as a .tga now open the war3 inmage extractor and open ur image then save it as a .blp as pencil god said in his tutorial here comes the hard bit i go into the start button in windows and say run then cmd then do cd (where ever your skin and mpq2k file is {make sure u have mpq2k thing with the image else it will fail}) press enter then do this mpq2k a(alway have this no matter what they are the commands) then ur map ie toochaos.w3m then put in your skins .blp name (so herodreadlord.blp) next go to the image extractor do not press enter yet and change the view of what u see to tree then do ctrl+f serch for the origanal skin and type that in press enter and then u are done any errors PM me and ill be happy to help you |

Do not listen to that person. His way takes far too long and pointless when better options are available. Read the tutorials on skinning that are on my site. |

It works, it's just that there are many better ways of doing it. After all, you had trouble making a dreadlord skin. |

I have checked every tutorial before, Yet, it makes no sense, I have tried, Nothing worked for me, i open the MPQ program, open a map, and all these catergories appear, when i click on the units one, it says it does not know the file, it is like units.doo or something like that, it's so frustrating >_< |

ok i told u what to do up above could u explian what is happening because iv had a problem with a few of the skins (not of units) oh and masterslow the reason i had the problem was because i didnt have it in the right directory because the dreadlord was put in the wrong place and i couldnt figure this out then when i did i needed the mpq2k file so its all good now |

I made a DH skin, It is complete, so i came here to see how to get it in, i downloaded winMPQ, i opened the map i wanted to put it in and this thing comes up with stuff like, attrbitues, listfile, etc, and i find one named war3mapUNITS.doo, i click it nothing happens, maybe i'm doing something wrong, which i prolly am. |

Just open your map and press add, then browse to your unit, and then type in the path without the filename (like Units\Orc\Peon\) |

What would i type for Demon Hunter? |

The same path from where you extracted it from, Textures\ |

the demon hunter skin path file is units\nightelf\herodemonhunter\herodemonhunter.blp |
