[Q]Remove the anoying delay between hitting an arrowkey and getting a response

Raptor--
ok, my bomberman map is essentially done, except that its very difficult to play when theres about a 1 second delay between hitting a key and getting a response (eg. movement or laying a bomb)

anyways i'm wondering if theres a way to get consistant keyboard movement that has no delay (multiplayer)... or is this just an inherent problem with the war3 engine for doing maps like this

iv played ur map and great map:D one of the best bomberman maps iv seen... for ur question id have to say am not really sure but i can map a test map and see if i have same problem and fix it and il tell u how if i do... and one more thing on ur map u should have it like instead of pressing it u should hold it down

Probably not, this is the usual lag with multiplayer maps like the delay between dialog button clicked, responding, etc

so theres really no way i can fix the issue... cause most people say the map is good, but it is difficult to actually play because of the lag time

i was thinking, does using camera focus for keyboard movement work any better than the 'keyboard event response'?

I have the same problem with my FPS map. Except far, far, FAR more severe... upwards of minute delays.

I attribute it to crappy WC3ness! .. If you get my meaning.

upwards of a minute? well, so if mine takes a second, and urs takes a minute, whats the difference between urs and mine? if theres something that can be reduced even more, then that'd be great

Um message email or PM me my email is [email protected]... Im working on a bomberman map to mine is a different gameplay of bomberman IE: its the newer style... and my triggers work fine i just gotta fix an explosion trigger and i'll be done but maybe we can share maps and triggers :)

hmm, coolaboy, can u send me ur bomberman map? i'd like to take a look at how u did keyboard movement if it has no delay

i can post mine if u wanna look at it too, but it's quite mathy, i dunno if u did it the same way or whatever

Yea don't worry mine is mathy to..... I made mine similar to your i guess but your is very twitchy i didn't use the arrow keys thatz why what i did is have a guy that you have selected and by clicking WASD you move and if you click B you lay a bomb down on you kinda like you did.... The problem with yours is that one it is constantly moving the guy and two you can move and all direction at once IE: diagonal and what not. Mine checks lots of variables to makes sure you can move in certain spots.

oh, u don't have constant movement, see thats the thing, having constant movement through the arrow keys...

ya, esc was just a thing i did cause it was easy do, i would probably change it, but i figured i wouldn't if i couldn't get the lag worked out
