Weapon into unit

how can i strip a unit of everything but its weapon then get the weapon into a working file for ingame use? i got Max 5 and that stuf

i would also like to know seeing as i dont want to start a new thread how u can put any kind of wepons on a unit like giveing a blademaster 2 swords i know it can be done but how

get somthing that can edit models, open the model in that program, removed the unit and crap and animations, save that model as somthin new, then u can attach it to a unit

not really related to skinning
then again i cant model and crap

I got out 3D studio max 5 removed everything but the vertical spear ( editable mesh 1) and then i selected all vertices ran a script exported as Spear.mdx, then i put a copy in my warcraft 3 folder under "units" and one under "Textures" imported it in my map replace peasent with "units\spear" ( btw i changed path file under import manager) then i just get missing .mdl or something like that

It should be Units\Spear.mdx, and make sure Units\Spear.mdx is in your war3 directory.
