Hi, uhm.... i need some help, but it's gonna sound REALLY weird....

attached is a picture that shows the problem. i don't know if you can tell what's wrong with it, i don't blame you if you don't. to put it simply, it's inside-out....... the backside of a model in milkshape is shaded black, the frontside is shaded gray. in mine, it think's the frontside is on the inside, i discovered this by zooming in too much, until i was inside the model. the inside is shaded light gray but the outside is extremely dark, hence my dilema. i need to know if there's a way to invert the shading it uses. i also need to know that if i can't, will it affect my final product in anyway? btw, don't ask (on the forum at least) how it got this way, it deals in some stuff that they don't want to get into here (it starts with emu.........) you can email me or aim me if you're interested. in your explanation/solution, please put everything in lamen's terms, i'm not a modeller at all, i'm a skinner, and i didn't exactly make this model myself, (again, emu..........) so try to make it so i'll understand.

Edit: ah, i was just reminded by another post, don't worry about the poly count, it's very high but i don't intend for there to be more than 3 or 4 of these on the field at once, and i know my pc can handle it pretty easily.

PS: if anyone can tell what this is, post what you think it is, i'll give you a treat if you're right! (the treat is nothing, just do it to sound smart)

i have no idea how you would fix this in milkshape, but in max select all the polys and press flip normals, so maybe look for something similar to that.

dangit, it does have the option but gmax can't save or export anything in any file types other than .p3d and .gmax, oh well, i'll have to wait until my friend get's back.

Go to Face/Reverse Vertex Order to flip em over to face the right way.

Found that on a tutorial.

How close do you think you are to finishing the model?
a small suggestion is to get rid of the cable as it will look wierd in WC3 since it has no source and doesnt extend to a source. other than that, its a very good model and i cant wait for you to skin it.
