Norbo's War-- Needs starting locations?!

Alright, I have converted the old 192x192 map into a new 256x256 map. All of the 12 previous start locations are located in the 192x192 area and need to be spread out. I'm also introducing 'settler mode'. Basically, at the start, you have 5 settlers and nothing else. They are.. ok..ish.. fighters and can build a forum (Like a town hall).

Now, where should the new spots be located? Keep in mind they aren't set in stone or anything due to the wandering abilities of the player at the start..

Here's the map with some labels for reference.

*edit* Alright, erm, it came out nice n' fuzzy. The east side of the map, vertical text, is called 'verdant lands'
The area east of the mountains says 'Mountainside Valley'
south of that says 'Southern Rocky Plains'
The most unreadable is the uppermost thing on the small stretch of land in blue print.. 'Icy Barrens'
The thing on the west side of the map in red is 'Infernal Valley'.
*edit* For any Asheron's Call players out there, yes I did take Cragstone directly from it. Hehh.. er.. hmm.

Hrm, one day and no responses.. Lets hear some input. I'd like to have a multitide of opinions on good starting locations rather than just mine..
